Round 1 (4): T Andrew Thomas, Georgia-JOe Judge- to be a good team - you need a good O-line. Started at that position our of gate- great character, upside. Important to rely on context we had- exposed at combine- then zoom/virtual meeting- felt good about pick. Nevr know how roster- developes during season- his ability to play rt/lt is very important- versatility. He can play both effectively- Know how Kirby runs his program- has contacts down there-Round 2 (36): S Xavier McKinney, Alabama Round 3 (99): T Matt Peart, Connecticut. Round 4 (110): CB Darnay Holmes, UCLA Good speed- shows some nasty- plays bigger than size. Round 5 (150): IOL Shane Lemieux, Oregon Tough kid who plays mad- tough powerful athlete Mentions auburn game-tossing boldies around Interior cross train value Round 6 (183): LB Cam Brown, Penn State Big long, runs well- 6’5 Plays aggressive downhill edge/stack versatile. Can move by game plan and by need. Talk to other guys on penn state- he was an alpha dog- leaders
Round 7 (218): Edge Carter Coughlin, Minnesota- 6’3- 240 linear guy (Joe) - name of the game speed- high motor, agressive- can get value- coming in to compete. Round 7 (238): LB TJ Brunson, South Carolina A bit small - stacked will- fast athletic- good instincts- plays at 230- good value and STs guy. Makes tackles sideline to sideline SC’s scheme isnt simple- been coached hard- good culture- Communication element on the field Round 7 (247): CB Chris Williamson, Minnesota Good size- long- run- Safty/corner flex- good size speed combo - compete Round 7 (255): LB Tae Crowder, Georgia RB ear,y- converted 245 lb kid who runs and plays 4’6only couple years at lb- compete for will Name of the game on day 3 - speed (good view of his ceiling fan) Mostly defense All 7th round guys have developmental qualities and tools
Seattle Seahawks
Moves post draft Released center britt - cleared 8 mill in cap Draft- Round 1 (27): LB Jordyn Brooks, Texas Tech Had a trade set up to go back a little bit- fell through last minute- so they took him there. Sounds like one of their trades was GB but they got better deal 233 lbs, runs 4.46 (4.54 at combine) Grit- homeless - junior year he played out in space- rover in big 12- senior year played inside- utah staff come down there, strength coached help build him-”ripped it up this year_ Hardship- made it through- was stronger for it- has learned lessons along the way Pete- mchecks all box Versatile- was responsible this last year for QB - spyiong chasing and rushing- can play inside or outside
Round 2 (48): EDGE Darrell Taylor, Tennessee- (JS)He was in consideration for rd 1- guys did a good job keeping it quiet they wanted to acquire him. View him as a top pasrusher- plate through a stress fracture in leg-fibula. Had surgery at end of the year- had him in for a visit- last guy they had in before quarantin Pete- upbeat personality- aggressive kid- got be up close and personal- real edge - really was effective on 3rd down, did alot defensively, with responsibilities well verse- LEO (Frank/Clem) Speed to power moves (Pete) Raw (Joe fann quote- 5 star potential- 3 star traits) Round 3 (69): IOL Damien Lewis, LSU (father was incarcerated) [battle fluker for guard spot]
Orgeron (relationship with pete) “You’re gonna love this kid from the way he competes Expereince at multiple spots- Projecting him to RG- because they’ve seen him do that 22 starts playing big boy football (JS) heavy hands- strong- good ancor (Favorite team) Good length for a guy who isnt as tall as some would like (played against best in country) (JS)
Round 4 (133): TE Colby Parkinson, Stanford-Big guy at tight end- at combine- coach schaub was bragging about him- big target- great hands- didnt have plans to play him right away Smart tough reliable guy (JS) Round 4 (144): RB DeeJay Dallas, Miami Fla. WR moved to RB- versatile JS- HS QB Pete- special teams- try hard- wild cat guy in backfield- Hopefully he will contribute in many ways Fit in offense? Round 5 (148): Edge Alton Robinson, Syracuse Wanted to build depth and get the rotation going Production & Ability to do the stuff of guys picked higher- Excited to get him in- worked out with their guys and now hes a teammate-Contrast with Darrell- both are classic edge players- good get off- good leverage- steneght & girth in lower bodyReal coordinated-technique Shocked he was still there Round 6 (214): WR Freddie Swain, Florida Swag-smart football player- competitor- mentioned the scouts (berry, highscmith) that checked him out Intelligence might ut him ahead of the curve (JS) Round 7 (251): TE Stephen Sullivan, LSu Developemental prospect Was very open with coach mcpherson at combine-senior bowl Wouldnt bet against Coach O - told him he would be one of your favorite guys- marvelous talent.
Didnt use him enough because of all the talent they had- young player at his position- particularly at los- he’s a receiver (PEte) - can see the talent
