Our story is an old fairytale from Ireland about a 'changeling'. Changelings feature in lots of folklore and you can find out more about them HERE. We made a little lullaby for this episode with words from WB Yeats' 'The Stolen Child' too!

This episode, Our story is a tale from the Mapuche people of Chile, a country in South America. There are many ancient stone masks that come from the Mapuche people, but unfortunately not much is known about them.That is why their folk tales are so precious! Our first story of the season is from the huge continent of Africa. And this particular tale is from a country called Zimbabwe. I came across this story a long time ago in a collection of stories called Children of Wax. And the story itself is thought to originate from the Ndebele tribe, related to the Zulu tribes of Southern Africa.

Our last story of season 6 is a version of a fairytale that you probably know very well - Cinderella. Did you know there are hundreds of versions of Cinderella? The oldest goes back to ancient china. 

But this story is a version from the United States – and comes from along the Appalachian mountains. A huge mountain range stretching 2000miles all the way from Canada right down to Alabama. You can find out more about the Appalachians HERE.
