  • Episode 22 (Mini Episode): The Meme-ing of Art
So, it takes Steph and Cam like 10 minutes to properly credit this song: https://youtu.be/D3-MAJBhwfQ which they play a clip of in the first couple minutes, but HANG TIGHT (they’re tipsy-er that usual in this one). They *do* start talking about the topic at hand. I promise.
They briefly ponder things like: is nostalg-art (nostalgia + pop art) a thing? Are Vines the first true video-style memes? And they wonder if maybe memes are, more than anything, a form of non-confrontational communication with others. Also, can memes that use combinations of art or media with silly text be separated? In other words, could the MEME be…unSEEN?
They also try to sing the Space Jam theme at one point. It’s bad. Real bad.

  • Episode 21: Can't Stop the K-Pop
What do K-Pop and Andy Warhol have in common? Steph and Cam attempt to figure that out in this episode! They also discuss whether K-pop is a sincere art form, how it compares to western pop, and does K-pop maybe challenge people’s perception of music altogether? Cam is new to this world, so Steph helped them out by sending them music videos by Psy, (Gangnam style), BTS, Big Bang, Girls Generation, 2NE1, and Blackpink. Plus, Stephanie nearly murders Cam after they make a joke about not liking Big Bang (Cam was *kidding*!! Don’t hurt them!!) All that and more for you—go listen!

  • Episode 19: Fan Art Part II ~ Electric Boogaloo ~ Featuring Sean Dempsey!
Stephanie and Cam are joined by Sean Dempsey ( https://instagram.com/smdempseycomics | http://smdempseycomics.com ) to dig into to round two of our fan art discussion! There’s lots to chew on in this one, like: is Roy Liechtenstein’s work technically fan art? What in god’s name is “Sonic Dreams Collection” and does it count as fan art? Do art pieces of drag queens and furries have similarities? What’s the difference between commercial march and fan art? Plus so, so much more. We also mention art by Chad Sell, which you can check out here: https://instagram.com/chadsell01. Also, a few episodes back, Cam said they’d get a link to the artist that made the Prophecy wine labels and they finally remembered to do that! Here it is: https://victo-ngai.com/prophecy-wine-labels

  • Episode 18: Inspirations and Mentors (Kinda)
Mentors…The Freshmaker! No, wait…that’s something else.
So…full disclosure: Steph and Cam are getting *really* close to locking down their new schedules IRL, but they’re both still in the middle of some hectic (but ultimately very positive) changes. That being said, they decided to do a slightly more personal episode. This week, they talk about who (and what) their biggest inspirations have been over the years. Also, sorry for some of the louder moments…headphone listeners, be warned.
Also, in case you missed it, we are now able to accept donations! Check out http://bit.ly/dacdonate to sign up for a recurring monthly donation. GOOD NEWS! Steph is over her sinus infection AND you can now donate to Drunk Art Chat through Anchor.fm! Awww yeah! Go to http://bit.ly/dacdonate to check it out! If you can’t contribute, Cam and Steph totally get it. Other super awesome ways you could help out include (drumroll, please) subscribing, leaving us a rating and review, and sharing the podcast with friends!
Anywho. This episode is all about designs…the good, the bad…the minimal. Steph and Cam talk about a local restaurant called Walker Bros., which, as Cam likes to say, “Has great food and a terrible menu“. They also discuss the cosmetic line, Benefit and get into their thoughts about what it is that even makes design good. Also, they chat about a shared favorite design: Secret Hitler. Also, Steph and Cam discover that they both enjoy two different brands (Brandless and The Ordinary) whose whole thing is…like…no brand? Don’t worry, you’ll see what they mean.

  • Episode 16 (Sober Art Chat Pt. 2): That's BRANDtastic!
Welcome to part two of a ~sober~ art chat (Stephanie was still working to get over her sinus infection). Cam and Steph DID have Starbucks, however! (not sponsored) Also, apologies for the particularly loud noises that Cam’s neighbors were making. Maybe they just really want to be on the show in some way or something, who knows.
In this episode, Stephanie and Cam talk about some of their favorite brands of art supplies, some they don’t love, and everything in between. A few brands they discuss are: Crayola, Rose Art, Faber-Castell, Reeves, Cotman watercolors by W & N (Wizard Newman—just kidding—Windsor Newton), Golden, Sennelier, Daniel Smith, Liquitex, Copic, Prismacolor, NuPastel, and Gelli Plates.
Plus, they answer some art supply related FAQs like: is it possible to get good supplies on a budget, and why are they so dang expensive? Can you mix oils with acrylics? Is there any way to seal watercolors and markers?

  • Episode 15 (Sober Art Chat Pt. 1): Let's Get Animated! Featuring Paul Myers!
Note: slight spoilers about mid-series Steven Universe!
Stephanie’s partner, Paul Myers, joins in for a *sober* art chat (Steph was on antibiotics and not looking to mix meds with booze). Travel with them to a little-known place (lol jk) called the nineties/early 2000’s as they all discuss some popular animated shows and whether or not they think cartoons are just for kids. Hear talk of Arthur memes, struggles separating Ren and Stimpy’s creator from the show, and somewhat terrifying Ash Ketchum impressions!
They touch on shows like Gumby, Unico, Liquid Television, Daria, Home Movies, Dr. Katz, The Critic, and a buttload more. Also in this episode, a discussion around politics in cartoons and examination of Disney’s “Der Fuehrer's Face” and ways in why they think it is people forgive racism in cartoons. Paul discusses his experiences animating and both he and Cam geek out over rotoscoping. Plus, soon much more!

  • Episode 14: Is Your Art Truly...Yours? Featuring Jonathan Stutz!
Steph and Cam are joined by dear friend and multi-talented local artist: Jonathan Stutz! You might recognize their name from the credits and some past shows, as Jonathan has so graciously provided this podcast with their music.
Cameron and Steph recently came across a video (which you can watch here: https://youtu.be/H0NZ1v7g-ss) about a phenomenon known as cryptomnesia. They were super interested in the concept and wanted to dig into it more, which is what they all do while Cam and Steph enjoy a few sips of some super good sangria. Since there's A LOT that gets touched on in this episode, we're just gonna list it all for you. Give'r a listen if ya like: blues music, Vanilla Ice/Under Pressure debacle, Slam poetry, Photoshop art (specifically Rob Sheridan's), Thor & God of War, Taylor Swift/Beyonce, Weird Al, Tim and Eric, The Eric Andre Show, NIN/David Bowie, Tropes in TV & RomComs, and Tangled vs Frozen.
