DTVC Podcast

In this episode I'm joined once again by Chris "The Brain" Kacvinsky from Bulletproof Action, and this time we're looking at some Zags with "Project Shadowchaser," co-starring Martin Kove as the fly in the ointment. In addition to the movie, we have a few classic TV tangents, and also discuss songs that this movie brings to mind. (We also get stumped trying to think of Zags's best movies!)

You can find Chris and Bulletproof Action at bulletproofaction.com, and the Bulletproof Action podcast on most major podcatchers.

We're joined once again by Jon Cross from the PM Entertainment Podcast and the After Movie Diner, this time to discuss a Joan Severance/C. Thomas Howell erotic thriller double feature, with "Dangerous Indiscretion" and "Payback." Before that though, Jon tells us about his recent foray into the DTV world with the movies "Mafia" and "Pistol Whipped." Then, after a break, we get into the erotic thrillers, first with "Dangerous Indiscretion," we discuss why it didn't work as well, even though Joan Severance really sells it. And then with "Payback," it works better overall, but we still try to make sense of Howell as an erotic thriller lead, specially with his mustache in this film. Finally, after the end theme song, there's a bonus 30 minutes or so of Jon and I riffing.

In this episode I'm joined by Freddie Young from Full Moon Reviews for our Christmas episode, as we look at the new "Silent Night, Deadly Night" that's out in theaters now. We talked about how much fun we had and why, and how we need more movies like this in the theater. Then with "Santa's Slay," we talk about Bill Goldberg as a wrestler, and how this movie was a departure from his wrestling persona--in a good way. We also discuss what the movie theater experience was like this past year, and what we think it'll look like in 2026.

"DTVC Extra" are shorter solo episodes that I'll be posting on some weeks in addition to the main podcast. In this episode I'm looking at "Ballerina" after finally watching it on Starz. I get into how I missed it when it was in the theater, and then how much I wished I hadn't as I was watching the film on the small screen. I then try to break down why a movie that was so good didn't do as well at the box office. Then in the second part, I get into the Warner Bros. sale, and give my thoughts on what I see happening between Netflix winning out, or Paramount.

To hear my thoughts on the previous entries in the John Wick series, it's DTVC Extra episodes 24 and 25 from back in May of 2024.

It's that time again! We're joined by Mitch from the Video Vacuum for his annual Christmas visit. This year we're discussing the Debbie Rochon/John Russo film "Santa Claws." In addition to the film, we talked a bit about Rochon's career, and the low budget horror movie ecosystem in the 90s. Then we continue our holiday tradition of discussing Mitch's holiday tradition, which is watching the Dan Haggerty classic "Elves."

In this episode I'm joined once again by Chris "The Brain" Kacvinsky from Bulletproof Action, and this time we're looking at one that many are considering one of the best actioners in recent memory, "Diablo." We discuss a bit about Adkins and Zaror and what makes them so good, and then we get stuck in on the film, walking you through all the great stuff--with perhaps a classic TV tangent or two!

Screenwriter Tom Jolliffe is back to discuss his newest film, "Death Among the Pines," which is available now to rent on Amazon for $2.99 here in the States. The first half is a spoiler-free conversation about the film, so even if you haven't watched the movie yet, you can listen safely. Then after a break, I ask some questions that do contain spoilers, so be careful if you haven't seen it yet.

Ty from Comeuppance Reviews is back for his monthly spot on the pod as we look at "Shepherd Code 2," which features Alain Delabie, Don "The Dragon Wilson" and Shaina West (who is on back-to-back Ty episodes!); and "Desert Dawn" The Phillippe Phactory film we'd been waiting for, as it features both Kellen Lutz and Cam Gigandet, plus a film-stealing performance by Chad Michael Collins. Finally, our spotlight on a fight looks at the end fight in "Deadpool."

"DTVC Extra" are shorter solo episodes that I'll be posting on some weeks in addition to the main podcast. In this episode I'm looking at the two latest entries in the Predator franchise, "Killer of Killers" and "Badlands". With the first one, I get into what I like, and what I don't like--and what I don't like is rather prodigious, enough for me to go on a rant. After a break I get into the newest film, "Badlands," which I liked better. If that's the case, where does it rank on my all-time Predator movie list? And then given what happens in "Killer of Killers," I don't have the highest expectations for what's next.

To hear my thoughts on the previous entries in the series, it's DTVC Extra episodes 21, 22, and 23 from back in April of 2024.
