This is a recording of our first-ever live event where the boys watched and reacted to the 2023 NHL Draft Lottery as it happened in real time. To say things didn't go the way of the DFAS Boys would be an understatement. As the recording goes on, we do an impromptu deep dive into why this year's NHL Draft Lottery and the direction that the first pick will be going is a TERRIBLE look for Gary Bettman, the Chicago Blackhawks and the NHL as a whole.
In today’s episode, the boys give their take on the recent playoff game results and what we’ve learned since the last episode. Also with the end of the season upcoming, that also means that the NHL draft takes place in the not-so-distant future. The boys weigh in on what they think might happen and how they hope their beloved Red Wings pan out. In an episode riddled with Wi-Fi and technological issues, the boys persevered. On to the draft lottery!

The boys discuss their thoughts and feelings on the first round of the playoffs and some of the news and possible matchups throughout the rest of the playoff rounds. Dan and Eric are also both quite distracted as they speak as they talk us through some good, live hockey fights and discuss who the NHL wants to see in the Stanley Cup Finals. The Toronto Maple Leaf's recent playoff drought gets covered, as well as everyone's general disdain for the franchise as a whole. Hot takes, Dan makes up facts, you know the drill.

Dan tells tales of his recent trip to Detroit to see our beloved Red Wings and the absurdity of player-used equipment for sale in the team store. The boys also discuss their absolute hatred for the shootout and their possible solutions to improve games that end regulation in a stalemate. And finally, on the day this episode was recorded, the QMJHL (Quebec Major Junior Hockey League) banned fighting in the interest of creating a “culture change” and the boys have some incredibly passionate takes on the direction the league has taken.
