  • Dulcinea’s Day 8 The Stages of falling in Love 🥰 (English)

    Thanks for listening ❤️

I want to remind you that this space is created specially for you and if you would like to hear an specific poem or poet please leave a comment and or send me your inquiries at: [email protected]

How beautiful it is to start the day thanking life for another set of 24 hours. I am in my garden having a cup of cinnamon tea with coconut milk. I love to experiment with my morning drinks, hahaha I hope you are enjoying your day too. Today we are going to talk about the stages of falling in love.

Much has been said that being in love is the perfect state of being human, because in addition to positive psychological changes, it also brings health benefits to our entire body.

First let's define the word Love:

The word LOVE has the following meanings.

1 Intense feeling of the human being who, starting from his own insufficiency, needs and seeks the encounter and union with another being.

2 Feeling towards another person who naturally attracts us and who, seeking reciprocity in the desire for union, completes us, makes us happy and gives us energy to live together, communicate and procreate.

3 Feeling of affection, inclination and delivery to someone or something.

There are different kinds of love: Love for your partner, Love for your children, Love for your parents, Platonic love, Self-love, Love for your roots or where you were born or grew up, Love for sports, Love for work, Love for art, Love to god. As a good romantic, I love to think that Love overcomes all barriers, maybe some of you share my opinion and others not so much. I need to clarify that I only talk about my experiences lived on this planet, I am not a psychologist and I do not have any certification in medicine, however my goal is that one day we can minimize violence and hatred between human beings, hopefully one day not far away there are no more wars. But for that we need to love more!!! And these are the stages of falling in love, according to all the times I've been in love, and there have been several, hahaha!!! My grandmother used to tell me: "Don't worry sweetie, you will fall in love again" and she was never wrong.

    First stage:

The attraction that dominates you... Do you remember that first time, when your eyes were overwhelmed by the gaze of your partner? Whether boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, wife, life partner? I do!!!! the butterflies in my stomach were flying at full speed, yes! And then after they dared to connect, it was a big hit!!!  probably when you remember those moments you still feel the amazing "butterflies" sensation in your tummy again!!!It is in this stage of the attraction when we do not measure time or distance and we cannot think of anything or anyone other than being with that super duper awesome person that attracts you and drives you crazy, crazy and crazy. Experts say that this feeling of euphoria is the one that can create addictions, since our brain releases large amounts of dopamine, serotonin or norepinephrine during this stage.

Second stage: The stage of Romance, of trust and the beginning of commitment…

This phase of falling in love is critical for the relationship to last, because unlike the attraction stage, it is when some couples begin to express that they like and dislike the other person and decide to live with it or end the relationship, i Personally, I consider this stage as the one to “remove the mask” and get the ghosts out of the closet, as we commonly say, and if we really love that person, we are going to say things that could affect the future of our relationship. It is said that most newly married couples have to survive the first five years together, to avoid divorce.

Third Stage: The Rock Solid Union Stage.

    The best part!

  • Dulcinea Día 15 Las diferentes etapas del Amor (Spanish)

Thanks for Listening!!!

  • Dulcinea’s Day 6 (English) “The Power of Forgiveness”

    Thanks for listening ❤️

I want to remind you that this space is created specially for you and if you would like to hear an specific poem or poet please leave a comment and or send me your inquiries at: [email protected]

Today I want to talk about something that a listener asked me in an email. I’ll keep the name anonymous because it was requested. But this person told me that last week had encountered a really hard pill to swallow. Since he saw a person that caused a lot of hurt in the past and just to see this person made him relive some of the damage this person caused in his life. It took me a whole week to reply to this person after a week of asking friends in the psychology field, life coaches, counselors and even a priest.

Even when you can go to therapy or use one of those mental help apps, there are many factors to the hurt/forgiveness process, when someone gets hurt by another person, and it’s known that we are humans and we all make mistakes, nobody is exempt from getting hurt and hurting someone. And while there are many circumstances that could lead someone to do harm intentionally or not.

Weather it was a person you had a deep connection with or just an acquaintance

Who hasn't been hurt by the actions or words of another? Perhaps your partner cheated on you with your best friend, (which by the way at the end was not a true friend), one of your parents was constantly letting you down when you were a kid, a friend who you trusted and confided a very intimate secret with, and told the entire school about it… Or in extreme cases you probably had a traumatic experience, such as being physically or emotionally abused by someone close to you, or a family member. These wounds can leave you with lasting feelings of anger and bitterness — even vengeance.

Because if you don't forgive, you are going back to that victim mentality and unfortunately you will end up being the one most affected and at the end of the day, simply you won’t find peace. By embracing forgiveness, you can also embrace hope, gratitude and joy.  Forgiveness can lead you to a happier and healthier life. We need to forgive, for our own sanity, we need to step away from that thing they did to us and hurt us, put it in the past, and move on, and I know it sounds like I am not giving the importance that it should to whatever they did to you, it is a selfish act of abandon whatever they did to you and just think about yourself and your well-being. When you don’t forgive someone you voluntarily allow that person to keep hurting you, literally you open the door to become a prisoner of their jail even when you have the key and could just open the door and walk out of that cell. There is a Gift in Forgiveness, give yourself the peace you deserve by forgiving whoever hurt you, I am not saying you forget what they did to you, I am just saying that what they did to you is in the past, the hurt belongs in the past too, keep it there, lock the box, bury it in the depth of the ocean and throw away the key. Learn to see the offense/harm in a way that doesn’t hurt you anymore, see it from outside, don’t relive it over and over.

Forgiveness is not for the person who hurt you, forgiveness is so that the damage caused by that person no longer hurts anymore. It might sound very difficult in the beginning but like everything in life it ends, and the sooner you act on it, the better. I hope you give yourself the gift of forgiving your trespassers, you deserve to be happy. Ciao!

  • Dulcinea Day 4 (English) Love yourself like nobody ever will....

As always a million thanks from the bottom of my heart for listening today and tomorrow, it means the world to me that you would spare a few minutes of your time listening to this podcast, and if you like it please share it, let’s keep spreading Love all around us, because the world needs more Love!!!

I want to remind you that this space is created specially for you and if you would like to talk about a specific poem or poet please leave a comment and or send me your inquiries at: [email protected]

With all the fuzz going around these past days about the big prize of MegaMillions, worth 1.34 billion; the questions flashed through our minds about what would we do with such amount of money?, well obviously after the taxes that uncle Sam would slash from your prize, but hey 433 millions after tax is still an awesome amount of money. When someone asked me what I would do, if I won the lotto?  I answered that I would offer at least 100 homeless people $150K ONLY IF they went ahead and learned a trade to survive on their own and never go back to live on the streets,(so roughly $15,000,000 would be gone the first year right?)  To what my friend said Dulcinea!!!! That’s crazy, homeless people are happy where they are, otherwise they would do something to get out of the situation they are in.

Hear me out Tom I said: Did I mention that I would pay for their tuition and also pay their lease, transportation and meals for a full year??? (that’s roughly another $4,800,000 in housing plus another $4,000,000 for transportation, groceries and personal hygiene at about $1,600 per/month p/individual) but that’s not all, because I would also pay for their tuition, and any good trade program to become a certified electrician, carpenter, HVAC tech or Certified Nurse Assistant will cost anything around $40,000 to $50,0000 depending on the certification field, let’s add another $5,000,000 at this point I already spent $29 to 30,000,000.00 at giving opportunities to people who will grab the bull by the horns and re-shape their future.

He said but why would you do that, Dulcinea??? Because you asked!!!! I said. No, he asked me again why would you help people who don’t want to help themselves? This time I grabbed him by the shoulders and answered: Because I was homeless once. And someone helped me. I was able to obtain a GED at age 27 because life was hard for me growing up besides I also did my fair share of bad choices. I decided to party instead of working towards my high school diploma, that mistake landed me an awesome job flipping burgers at a fast food place, where I used to hang out with the wrong crowd and one thing led to another, sure enough I ended up doing wrong things, and while I am not proud to say it, it was my own self trying to live a life that was not going to take me to any professional success, could I have done things differently? Maybe, I don’t know, I can’t blame the people I was with, because nobody forced me to do the things I did, according to me I was just having fun. How did I get out of it?

Someone offered me help, and when this person asked me Do you want to end up in a ditch OD, or do you want to do something good with your life? Of course I choose LIFE!!!

  • Dulcinea Day 5 the power of kindness (English)

As always a million thanks from the bottom of my heart for listening today and tomorrow, it means the world to me that you would spare a few minutes of your time listening to this podcast, and if you like it please share it, let’s keep spreading Love all around us, because the world needs more Love!!! Today I want to talk to you about empathy and the desire to help others that many call: “good will” but not the thrift store, Lol :)x I am talking about the instinctive impulse to do good for other people. There are many books about positive energy, there are movies, documentaries related to this very interesting topic. There is this cultural collective thought about the idea that when you look for the positive side of circumstances life suddenly becomes easier and if not easier a bit more manageable and less chaotic. I would like to say that everything starts with the will of doing good, and I am not talking about the willpower that pushes you to exercise, to eat healthy, or to learn something new, (we will talk about willpower some other time) in today’s episode I am referring to the desire to make someone feel well. It recently happened to me while I was picking up my morning boost at a popular coffee shop, the place was packed! And when the Barista called my name I approached the counter and she said, you have a nice outfit, you paired the perfect shoes with that skirt!. I said thank you and left the shop feeling as if I just did the catwalk on the runway, Lol!

She didn’t know but that day I had a difficult morning, I started my day with a heated discussion with one of my siblings about how to care for one of our elder relatives and other personal decisions at one point of our lives we all have to make about our loved ones, I was feeling so down, but her comment on my outfit and noticing the effort I did in order to not show my frustration with my current life circumstances boosted my day and from that moment on I saw things with a new perspective. It’s amazing how our words can build confidence in us, it’s definitely a positive way to show support for anyone without even trying. I try to compliment people not based on their looks but on how they act or their personal achievements, for example at my line of business it is super important to tell your coworkers they’re doing a good job, and recognize a team effort when the team achieves a sales goal. Or build their confidence when the deadline for a job is coming and reassure them that we will be able to make it.

Words in the form of compliments are the most powerful tools we have in communicating good will. That’s exactly what I want to communicate today. We are social living beings and by social I mean we communicate, nowadays there are more ways to communicate than ever!!!! We have dozens of social media platforms that connect us with people around the world, we have free or paid chat sites, dating apps, video apps, etc…. And to that add radio, tv and the written press. We can’t complain about not having enough ways to communicate.

Witnessing acts of kindness produces oxytocin, occasionally referred to as the ‘love hormone’ which aids in lowering blood pressure and improving our overall heart-health. Oxytocin also increases our self-esteem and optimism, which is extra helpful when we're anxious or shy in a social situation.

I would say let’s just practice kindness one day at a time, complement total strangers on your path, find something nice to say to them and let the good will spread through the day.

Today's poem is Kindness by Sylvia Plath.

    Thanks for listening, Ciao!
