On the final stretch of the voyage from Polb to Kozzem across the frigid Nortsea, the party's convoy enters an enormous storm and encounters something gigantic beneath the waves.

The party pilot their two ships around the mainland. Beleg, Steve, and Dr. Zozo discover a mysterious passenger aboard the Auboatgine. Rook and Kaitoa find they have something in common with Captain Flagon. A sailing montage ensues, including an encounter with a polar bear and a fishing derby. Finally, the party begins to traverse the vast, frigid Nortsea towards the island realm of Kozzem - where the Wizard's Guild hold the party's allies Mem and Gurm captive.

The party emerge from the secret tunnel beneath the city's walls, and look for ships to take them to the Wizard’s Isle of Kozzem. Dr. Zozo performs a miracle on the docks. Rook and Kaitoa spy a familiar half-orcish ferryman, while Beleg and Steve investigate a Nobleman's yacht. Messenger Dante makes a memorable appearance.

As the party collect themselves in the observatory tower stairwell, Steve employs his ranger-boy talents to track Emis. Beleg transports himself and Kaitoa ahead through the castle, while Rook, Dr. Zozo, and Steve follow in stealthy pursuit. But where is the Emissary?

The party fight off hundreds of ravens in the observatory tower. Dr. Zozo has a brush with death.

The party interrogate Qrrrk the Kenku regarding the whereabouts of Emis.

The fracas at Hewgill Castle continues as the party attempts to breach the Kenku's observatory tower. 

The party heads for Hewgill Castle, planning to confront Qrrrk the Kenku and Emis the Emissary.

Beleg, Steve, and Dr. Zozo receive a shocking message from Gurm, delivered by Dante. Next, with Rook recovering and Kaitoa still offline, they decide to investigate the mystery mimic chest, hidden away in a crate in the Danger Room. Then, they consult a very drunk Engo Oldfoot in hopes of better understanding the information they uncover, ultimately concluding they are destined to confront the Wizard's Guild.

Rain falls as the party deals with the aftermath of the battle. Rook and Oldfoot are resuscitated by Dr. Zozo, while Kaitoa remains motionless, his giant axe lodged into the ruined steps of the Temple of Dan. Rook - having nearly been killed - retires to the party's chambers upstairs. Then Steve, Beleg, and Zozo discover the collateral damage caused during the destruction of the White Chain's facade.
