We had the pleasure of chatting with Dan Vaughan Jr. this week. He is the radio voice of the Kansas City Monarchs.

The Kansas City Monarchs are in their second season in the American Association, a professional independent wood bat league. They were formerly known as the Kansas City T-Bones, before rebranding as the Monarchs for the 2021 season.

The Monarchs won the American Association championship in 2021, their very first year as they rebranded and paid homage to the well-known Negro Leagues team with the likes of Jackie Robinson and Satchel Paige amongst others.

Dan shares with us a little about his broadcasting career and also what it's like getting to call the games for the Monarchs. He has the opportunity every day to tell the story of the current team and tie in the former team that played years ago.
