Today, Teresa searched high and low for a suitable guest and decided to interview Lou about her health habits, particularly her exercise regimen. (Teresa didn't look at all; Lou was right there!) They discuss the benefits of yoga and physical exercise. The co-hosts also weigh the value of keeping an exercise log to better assess whether you are getting the required number of minutes per week to stay healthy. Through today's broadcast it's affirmed that ultimately, we each have to take personal responsibility to improve our health. There is a saying that you are never too old or too sick to make even small steps to better health. Here at Earrings Off! we wholeheartedly agree!

Yes, this is our third episode about the virus and we have been warned to avoid future podcasts which discuss COVID-19; that our numbers will go down because people are tired of hearing bad news. This virus continues to be deadly, even more so for African-Americans. Today we discuss small steps to take to improve our health. Rome wasn't built in a day; however, the path to recover our health can start with the very next decision you make about what you will eat or what you will do to curtail future damage. Small, deliberate steps. One day at a time.

COVID-19 threat, social distancing, school closures, catastrophic levels of unemployment, travel restrictions, empty store shelves, incompetence at the highest levels, plummeting stock prices and no end in sight. So much pressure. Most apropos are the Grandmaster Flash lyrics: "Don't push me 'cause I'm close to the edge, I'm trying not to lose my head...sometimes I wonder how I keep from going under."
These are tough times. It is during such times that suicide for some, may seem like the only answer. Today, Lou and Teresa revisit that subject with a return to an earlier podcast and share specific COVID-19 resources which hopefully will lighten the load.

Lou and Teresa discuss how people can become comfortable by staying in the same environments, doing the same thing. The routine provides comfort, it's what we know and it works. Or does it? For example, if you have found a way to brush your teeth and that specific way has been proven to remove a significant amount of plaque, well that's a good thing. Bravo and keep brushing!
However, if you keep brushing your teeth the same way because you believe if you don't brush with the same circular motion exactly three times then your teeth will fall out, with no rational basis for this technique, well this episode may be for you.
Lou and Teresa discuss irrational fears. They also talk about how avoiding situations which make us uncomfortable may also be the gateway to either irrational behavior or possibly living an unfulfilled life. You're better than that. Listen in and commit to doing something you have always wanted to try but were too afraid to attempt. Something that you know, may spur you on to more success or even more fun. (Side bar: Lou and Teresa recently did something that made them very uncomfortable: they enrolled in acting classes. It's going just as badly as they imagined but the laughs are proving to be just what they both needed after some very long days.) Turns out Nike was right: Just Do It!
