When the bizarrely haunting video of Elisa Lam in the elevator of the Cecil Hotel was released in 2013, folks across the country were intrigued. But the strange and tragic history of the Cecil goes back far beyond 2013, nearly 100 years to its opening in 1924. This week Halee takes us through the storied hotel's very troubling past. From unsolved murders, to serial killer tenants, to douchey ghost hunters... this hotel has seen it all. The hotel's tragic past culminated in the seemingly mysterious disappearance of Elisa Lam in 2013, which we'll try our best to get to the bottom of. Before things get too dark, Elise delights us with a delicious treat- from scratch! Happy Haunting!

Is there anything scarier than being lost? Sometimes the journey to be found is even worse. Such was the case for these three adventurers who found themselves trapped in unforgiving territory. We'll uncover the hiding place of 8-year-old Katherine Van Alst who disappeared in Devil's Den State Park in 1946.  We'll travel to the Amazon with Juliane Koepcke, whose world came crashing down one fateful Christmas Eve in 1971. Stranded in the dense jungle, Koepcke was forced to put one shoeless foot in front of the other after unimaginable trauma. Finally, we'll close with Steven Kubacki's ooky spooky disappearance on the frozen shores of Lake Michigan in 1978. This second part in Elise's "summer series" is sure to inspire, scare and remind listeners that you'd rather not go it alone in the great outdoors. Halee treats us with a tried and true favorite. Too bad Elise can't have any. Happy Haunting!

It's September 2006, outside the Rainforest Cafe on the strip in Vegas- can you imagine a more romantic setting for love at first sight? Travis Alexander- the young, naive, Mormon- spots Jodi Arias- the alleged 'sex kitten'- for the first time. What followed was a year and half long affair, which can only be described as absolutely bat shit insane. This week we learn a cautionary tale of what happens when you ignore red flags, blindly follow purity culture, and get involved in pyramid schemes. The long and short of it is that it ends badly for everyone! Tune in for the heartbreaking and infuriating story of Jodi Arias and Travis Alexander. At the end of the episode, we're joined by a special guest to celebrate an important milestone with a little something sweet.
Happy Haunting!

We consider ourselves pretty spooky bitches, but sometimes there’s things that make us go “hmm…” Such is the case with the strange disappearance of Marcia Moore. A student of New Age philosophy, Marcia practiced yoga, believed in reincarnation and heavily studied the effects of psychedelic drugs on human spirituality. Four husbands, seven books and many doses of ketamine later, and Marcia Moore found herself closer than ever to the divine until she disappeared one wintry night. Was it murder? Suicide? Kidnapping? Or had Marcia simply dematerialized back into the universe? Join us as we travel through all 12 dimensions, investigating a second strange disappearance and enjoying home made ice cream, straight from Halee’s kitchen. Happy Haunting!

Please ensure your seatbelts are securely fastened, as this week's listener story is about to take you on a wild ride. This week we interview our wonderful friend and listener Alyssa, who worked for a certain *magical* theme park for many years, and saw many strange things. From haunted hotels, to ghostly staff members who never got to clock out from their final shift, she shares the haunted goings on of one of America's favorite destinations. She makes a strong case for getting mixed up in the magic of ouija boards- will Halee be convinced to give it a shot? Before we wrap up, Alyssa shares what we both agree is the most compelling evidence of a ghost we've ever seen... this is one you're not going to want to miss!

Happy Haunting!

You shouldn't take that which doesn't belong to you, but sometimes the gettin's too good. Daron learned his lesson the hard way in our latest listener story. From the craggy peaks of Hatcher Pass, he and his friends find something unexpected on a mountain trail, and inside sits a handwritten note. What happens next will change their lives forever and remind Daron to never take something with a face. Happy Haunting!

All's well that ends well, and suffice to say Halee's trip to Scotland did not end well at all. We're coming to you live from across the pond to give some life updates and throw together a half-assed episode to keep your interests piqued. We feel pretty proud we showed up at all as shit pretty much hit the fan. Halee will share her story (the scariest we've ever told on the podcast) and we'll read aloud some listener submissions. To finish it up, Elise will share a spooky short story written in 11th grade. "Fiery Innocence" is sure to be a hit. Watch out Steven King, Elise is coming for you. Happy Haunting!

He's everyone's favorite big guy, even with only four toes and a stinky disposition. You love to question him, really want to believe in him, and can't quite disprove him. It's a bear! It's a costumed man! It's Bigfoot! Whether you call him Sasquatch, Bigfoot or maybe even Yeti, everyone has some version of this bi-pedal beast who lives in the woods. This week, Halee navigates our favorite cryptid's origin story, some questionable proof of his existence and the film that made him famous. As always, Joe Nickell tries to crash the party, but we just won't let him. Happy Haunting!

The most infamous witch trials are synonymous with Salem, but the most recent happened in the UK less than 80 years ago. This week, we'll dive in to the 1944 witch trial of Helen Duncan and the leaked war time secrets that inevitably found her in court. We'll unveil her haunted past and explore the rise of Spiritualism in a country ravaged by war. Was Helen Duncan truly blessed with otherworldly powers? Or was she a clever girl who knew how to work the system? We'll explore all that and more, closing with a delicious Pavlova lovingly made by Halee. Happy Haunting!
