Eavesdroppin'

This week on Eavesdroppin’ comedy podcast, Geordie & Michelle discuss psychic detectives...

In 1983, 25-year-old Jacqueline Poole from west London was murdered in her home. Just streets away, a woman called Christine Holohan contacted police shortly after the crime, claiming to have received psychic visions about the killer, the victim and the scene. Her detailed descriptions seemed spot on - but the police didn't act on the info. Listen now to hear the twists and turns of Jacqueline's case and how DNA evidence retrospectively supported Christine's claims...

Geordie follows with a look at the other side of the psychic detective coin... Do police actually use psychics to help solve cases? What are the numbers? Geordie has the stats! Plus she digs into the work of Benjamin Bradford, a noted skeptic and debunker, who has exposed psychic claims by analysing psychic methods and showing how supposed “psychic hits” can be explained through cold reading, coincidence, or selective memory. Psychic detectives... Real or fake? You decide!

So pop on your headphones, grab a brown lemonade and join Geordie & Michelle for this week’s episode, plus chat about jelly shoes, Wordle, creative swearing and more, only on Eavesdroppin’ comedy podcast. And remember, wherever you are, whatever you do, just keep Eavesdroppin’!

This week on Eavesdroppin’ comedy podcast, Geordie & Michelle ponder aliens, clowns and UFOs...

On a cloudless afternoon in southern Finland in 1970, two skiers stopped to take a break and saw strange lights in the sky. Then they saw a space craft. Then they saw aliens in cute outfits. Then… well, you’ll have to listen if you want to know what happened next to Aarno Heinonen and Esko Viljo. May include sexy spacewomen…

Geordie follows with a look at The Sandown Clown. Since we touched on the story earlier this year, there has been new information about the enigmatic creature, who, in 1973, made contact with two children on the Isle of Wight. The older child, ‘Faye’, said the being looked like a strange clown, called himself All Colours Sam and ate berries through his ear. Now an adult, Faye has recently spoken out about the encounter and her interactions with the being…

This week on Eavesdroppin’ comedy podcast, Geordie & Michelle celebrate Halloween by looking at hauntings and horror…

Imagine sitting on the loo only to have the door fly open by a dwarf monk holding a severed forearm. Could only happen at Hobstones, a haunted farm in Yorkshire, England, where spooky goings on happen on the reg. Geordie also looks at the gruesome history surrounding the witches of Pendle and the grisly end for those caught up in the witch hunt!

Michelle follows with a look at a classic tale of horror from the King of Horror himself, Stephen King. When Pet Sematary was published in the early 1980s, author Stephen King said it was the scariest book he'd ever written - and this is coming from the author of It and The Shining! So what is it that makes Pet Sematary so scary? What's the back story? Why is it misspelled? And why did it almost never see the light of day? Listen now!

So pop on your headphones, grab a brown lemonade and join Geordie & Michelle for this week’s episode, plus chat about halloween costumes, an Agony Aunt question, lolly bras and more, only on Eavesdroppin’ comedy podcast. And remember, wherever you are, whatever you do, just keep Eavesdroppin’!

This week on Eavesdroppin’ comedy podcast, Geordie & Michelle look at stomach-churning stories about people who coulda, shoulda but didn’t…

When a gas delivery driver noticed dead bodies littering the grounds of a local crematorium, he raised the alarm on what turned out to be one of the most shocking and disturbing crimes involving the mistreatment of dead bodies. So what happened at Tristate Crematory? How did the owner get so sloppy that he let hundreds of bodies pile up instead of cremating them? And what happened when he got busted? Listen now to this heartbreaking horror-show story…

Geordie follows with an ‘against my better judgement’ story from 2023 about cheating husband, Brendan Banfield… On paper, he seemed like a normal guy with a beautiful family, but in reality, he was setting up a bizarre online plot that involved fetish websites, grooming an unsuspecting victim, his family’s hot Brazilian nanny and the death of his wife. Listen now to discover the twists and turns of this disturbing story and how Brendan’s dodgy self-defence story left a courtroom in disbelief.

So pop on your headphones, grab a brown lemonade and join Geordie & Michelle for this week’s episode, plus chat about telly recs, twins, Mrs Doubtfire and more, only on Eavesdroppin’ comedy podcast. And remember, wherever you are, whatever you do, just keep Eavesdroppin’!

This week on Eavesdroppin’ comedy podcast, Geordie & Michelle look at two celebrities, Gawn Too Soon...

On March 31st 1993, on the set of The Crow, it was just another day at work for 28 year old actor Brandon Lee. Until it wasn’t. Just like the recent Rust controversy, there was an incident with a prop gun that went horribly wrong. So what happened that day? Who was Brandon Lee? How did he die? And what has been his legacy? Listen now!

Michelle follows with a look at the tragic life and death of musical icon, Karen Carpenter. With a voice as smooth as the satin she wore on stage, she was half of The Carpenters, the brother sister duo behind some of the greatest hits of the 70s. Yet unbeknownst to the world, Karen was struggling with a little-known disorder called anorexia nervosa. Listen now to hear about her life, career and heartbreaking death.

This week on Eavesdroppin’ comedy podcast, Geordie & Michelle look at a couple of cults...

Have you heard of the Zizians? They're the cult you have when you're not having a cult because there's apparently no leader, no organisation and no group. However, there are whole lot of deaths and a whole lotta convoluted twists and turns! A radical group of trans-gender geniuses that grew out of the Bay Area’s rationalist and vegan communities, the Zizians are so-named because of the main figurehead, Ziz (previously known as Jack LaSota). Their journey from being a fringe offshoot of rationalist culture out to save the world from AI, to shootouts and stabbings is a wild ride...

Geordie follows with a look at the Sovereign Citizens Movement, AKA the SovCits. They're a kinda loose anti-government collective who believe they are independent of societal laws and authority, ie, that they don't have to pay taxes or restaurant bills, don't need a driving license and aren't bound by courts and rulings, because they believe the government is illegitimate. It’s not so much an organised cult but more of a conspiracy-driven ideology connected to various scams and anti-government violence. Geordie dives into charismatic leader Mark Christopher and the time he tried to shut down a coroner's court in the UK - listen now!

So pop on your headphones, grab a brown lemonade and join Geordie & Michelle for this week’s episode, plus chat about telly recs, Aussie lollies and silent retreats, only on Eavesdroppin’ comedy podcast. And remember, wherever you are, whatever you do, just keep Eavesdroppin’!

This week on Eavesdroppin’ comedy podcast, Geordie & Michelle discuss prophets, predictions, telepathy and twins...

How accurate are psychic predictions? This week, Geordie looks at the predictions of Baba Vanga, a now-deceased Bulgarian mystic and healer who has predicted some terrifying things - both in the past and for the future. Real or vague generalisations? You decide! Plus, stories of psychic readings, predictions that came true and more!

Michelle follows with a look at two very different sets of twins - LA's glamour girls, The Psychic Twins and Australia's viral Twinnies! Are The Psychic Twins really psychic, or are they just chancers cashing in on generalisations and vague predictions? And who are The Twinnies? Why do they talk in unison? Are they the real deal? And why do they prefer sea birds to men? Listen now to see why Michelle thinks these ladies are brilliant!

This week on Eavesdroppin’ comedy podcast, Geordie & Michelle discuss risky behaviours...

Michelle looks at the disturbing and harrowing case of serial killer nurse Charles Cullen. Every time Charles Cullen got a new job at a new hospital, patients begin dying in mysterious and unexplained ways. IV bags suddenly become contaminated. People were dying from high levels of strange meds. Although suspicion was directed towards Charles, nothing happened and Charles simplu moved on to the next hospital to continue his killing spree - until he didn't. Listen now to see how Charles's risky behaviour finally unravelled.

Geordie then looks at a different kind of risky behaviour: people who jump into wild animal enclosures! There's the woman who wanted a selfie with a jaguar! The guy who wrestled a walrus! A group of teens who tormented a Siberian tiger! So why do people risk their lives by acting recklessly with wild animals or homemade hot air balloons or worse? Listen now to hear these stories and more...

This week on Eavesdroppin’ comedy podcast, Geordie & Michelle discuss two tragic celebrity deaths...

Geordie heads to Jamaica this episode to look at the life and tragic death of reggae legend Peter Tosh. On September 11, 1987, when Peter Tosh was brutally murdered in his own home, the world was stunned to lose a musical icon. But for the people who were with Peter in his last horrifying moments, they all told police they recognised his murderer – a friend of the singer called Denis ‘Leppo’ Lobban. So why did Denis turn from friend to murderer? What was his motivation? What did Peter do to Denis – if anything? Listen now!

When 32-year-old Hollywood actress Brittany Murphy suddenly died of pneumonia and anaemia in her home in December 2009, her death was ruled accidental but preventable. But five months later, when her sketchy husband Simon Monjack also died from pneumonia and anaemia, the conspiracy theories went wild about what was REALLY happened. Was black mould involved? How about drugs? Coercive control? Did the government have something to do with it? Listen now to find out more.

So pop on your headphones, grab a brown lemonade and join Geordie & Michelle for this week’s episode, plus chat about Priscilla Queen of the Desert, vape guns, language mishaps and more, only on Eavesdroppin’ comedy podcast. And remember, wherever you are, whatever you do, just keep Eavesdroppin’!
