Echo Chamber

On today's #EFTV we're looking at a LOT of things, starting with how KPMG axed their UK boss for 'being mean' during a meeting!?! Then we see how a bad TrustPilot review now means the reviewer has to pay £25,000 ($34,000) to a London law firm in libel damages! An ex employee has accused a Techno record label of racial discrimination, BUT, he also asked for £10K to keep quiet! NOW, over in France they're aiming on applying their VERY first age of consent laws, plus limitations on sexual violence against children!!! Something that's just as HUGE, a couple of Louisiana sanitation workers save a 10 year old girl how'd been kidnapped!!! And how bout this, three stranded Cubans rescued from a 33 day ordeal on the desolate Anguilla Cay island by the Florida Keys Coast Guard!!!

PLUS, it was over to Netflix to pick back up on 'BONDiNG' and see if Rightor Doyle tale of two friends, one (Zoe Levin) a dominatrix and the other (Brendan Scannell) a wannabe comedian, holds up over these two seasons.

AND, our Audible of the week, is 'Dawn', book one in Octavia E. Butler's 'Xenogenesis trilogy'. Which deals with how humans might react to Aliens who help after we destroy the planet. Oh, the Aliens don't look like us and by all accounts, are creepy as hell!

This week:

- KPMG have their UK boss step aside for 'being mean' during a meeting!?!

- A bad online TrustPilot review about a London law firm, leads to reviewer having to pay £25,000 ($34,000) in libel damages!

- Techno label accused of racial discrimination by ex employee, though said employee only making claims after demanding £10,000 to keep quiet!

- France aiming to bring in their VERY first age of consent law and others around extending or abolishing the statute of limitations on sexual violence against children!!!

- Louisiana sanitation workers save kidnapped 10 year old girl!!!

- Florida Keys Coast Guard rescues three stranded Cubans from 33 day ordeal on the desolate Anguilla Cay island!!!

'Blinding Lights' by The Weeknd - 2020

Well, the weekend definitely had some epic moments for everyone!

Friday 'BKFC' held their 'Knucklemania' PPV, with Paige VanZant vs Britain Hart as the headliner. A lot was thrown, but a lot was missed, not really a close fight, UNTIL the fifth round, where VanZant seemed to find her flow. And you do suspect, if she had fought the previous rounds with the same intent, things may have been a lot different!

Saturday though, we were back in the flow of things, as it was 'UFC on ESPN+ 42'.

and Ode Osbourne really got the night rocking as he scored the 26 second KO in the very first fight on the Prelims!

The next four fights had very solid performances from Timur Valiev, Seung Woo Choi, Lara Procópio and Karol Rosa. Devonte Smith return to the Octagon was a damaging affair, as he closed Justin Jaynes' eye and got a doctors stoppage!

To start the Main card, Danilo Marques pulled off a slick rear naked choke finish and looks like he could definitely be a threat for the Light Heavyweight division.

The match up between Carlos Diego Ferreira & Beneil Dariush was a non stop war, and clearly earned its 'Fight of the Night' status!

BUT, it was all about the last two fights on the card, as fireworks were instore!

Cory Sandhagen did not wait long before he hit jump knee that could have put anyone away! And if coming into this fight, people thought the winner could be inline for the next title shot. This win took away any doubt that was there!!!

THEN, in the main,  Alistair Overeem had said he had one last run in him, but it was also clear Alexander Volkov was prime for the next level of things. It was just a case of who claimed it and Volkov made it crystal clear that he's done playing. A second round right, left hook combination ended the Overeem's night in enphatic fashion, but now leaves the question of "when". Cause with Jon Jones circling the winner of Stipe Miocic vs Francis Ngannou it does make things interesting.

AND on Sunday, Tom Brady's Tampa Bay Buccaneers challenged Patrick Mahomes Kansas City Chiefs in the LV, 'Super Bowl'!

So, let's break it all down, in today's (ep 143) @ChinCheckPod 🥊

- KnuckleMania: VanZant vs Hart

- UFC on ESPN+ 42: Overeem vs. Volkov

- Super Bowl XL

'Ridin' (feat. Krayzie Bone) by Chamillionaire - 2005

Well, Friday is here, so that means we are turning our gaze to what's been happening in the world of #MMA

With Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship's BIG PPV ahead, they're really trying to push it. Unfortunately, that Paige VanZant, Britain Hart confrontation at the Knucklemania weigh-in's just came off worse than a school play!

Markus Perez wanted to be released from the UFC so he could prove his worth and get back to the octagon. And this happened along with eleven other fighters

The MMA world is universally shaking their head, as Stephen A. Smith comes out as a jackass, with his comments & views on WMMA.

And we give the 'UFC on ESPN+ 42' weigh-in's a quick look, Alistair Overeem vs Alexander Volkov is a go, along with all the other fights on the card.

Today's (ep 145) @ChinCheckPod breaks it all down, so let's get with it!

'Ridin' (feat. Krayzie Bone) by Chamillionaire - 2005

@EchoChamberFP is coming at you today with three films, ones streaming on Netflix, one's on Shudder today and the other is hitting the Festival Scene today! We've got action, fear and erotic rebirth!

We start off with Lluís Quílez's new film 'Bajocero' which is streaming on Netflix. It tells the story of a policeman who transfers to a new precinct and his first duty is to transport prisoners in the dead of night on a lonely back road, what could possibly go wrong!

Nora Unkel wrote & directed 'A Nightmare Wakes' which hits Shudder today. The film explores the fateful trip to Lake Geneva with her lover Percy Shelley and stepsister Claire Clairmont. During this time she suffers a miscarriage, and also the birth of her famous novel 'Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus', while trapped in an opium-fuelled fever dream where reality and the novel clash!

Josie Hess and Isabel Peppard's documentary 'Morgana' is playing at the 'San Francisco Indie Fest' and documents Morgana Muse's sexual reawakening. From a dutiful housewife stuck in a loveless, sexless marriage, ready to end her life. After an encounter with a male escort, she rises up to become a celebrated sex-positive feminist porn star!

'Horse & Carriage' (feat. Mase) by Cam'ron - 1998

The UFC is back at the APEX on Saturday, with 'UFC on ESPN+ 42'.

This is a big card for the return to Vegas, eight fights on the Prelim and five (it was six) on the Main card.

Notable match-ups, on the Prelims are Karol Rosa vs Joselyne Edwards, Timur Valiev vs Martin Day and Michael Johnson vs Clay Guida!

Then on the Main we have Alexandre Pantoja vs Manel Kape and then the Co-main Cory Sandhagen vs Frankie Edgar!

AND, it's all headlined by Alistair Overeem who has stated, this is 'the last title run', which is very compelling. But, he's going against no shrinking violet, don't be fouled. Alexander Volkov also wants to get into that title mix. So this is gonna be one hell of a tussle!

So, let's preview the upcoming action with today's (ep 144) @ChinCheckPod

- UFC on ESPN+ 42: Overeem vs. Volkov

'Get Me' (feat. Naomi Wild) by Twista - 2004

This week, we break WHY Jeff Bezos has stepped down from running Amazon , We also get into this craziness of AQA saying GCSE students are too delicate to hear Zoella talking about sex issues  Is Rihanna talking about the Indian farmers bad or should the Indian Government just talk about the situation, DJ Tiiny got canned from Capital Xtra after J Beatz put him on blast for trying to charge to play his single! AND Starz and Loma Vista Recordings try and pretend they thought Marilyn Manson was a boy scout, and drop him after Evan Rachel Wood says what everyone already knew  #EFTV spitting fire as always!!!

PLUS, Netflix saved it, a third season kicked in the New Year, so, I figured I'd martial up the patience and give season one of 'Cobra Kai' a kick.

AND, our Audible of the week, is something a lil different, cause it's all bout shining the light on a film that it's claiming to be a hidden gem! Richard Ayoade fills us in on why 'View From the Top' should be re-examined, in the hilarious 'Ayoade On Top'.

This week:

- Jeff Bezos steps down as CEO from Amazon and we know why!?!

- Is anyone surprised Putin put Alexei Navalny in jail??

- Are celebrities virtue signalling around India's farmer protests???

- Zoella axed by AQA for talking about sex!

- Starz and label drop Marilyn Manson after Evan Rachel Wood talks abuse!

- Crocked DJ caught in play for pay scam!
