Today takes you back to that first trip to 'Fight Island', as we have Wednesday fights!!!

'UFC on ESPN 20' is brimming with intriguing match-up's and we have a few local fighters, like Manon Fiorot & Mounir Lazzez looking to hear their names chanted by the crowds!

Omari Akhmedov vs Tom Breese is a great fight to lead into the main card, packed with six duels that all have the potential, to grab that 'Fight of the Night' moniker!

Tyson Nam ended his last two fights via KO and you know he'll want to make that a threepeat. 

The opponent may have changed, but Warlley Alves is still looking to get back on track. It just means Lazzez is the one wearing the target tonight!

Then the Main event, has two former 'Ultimate Fighter' Vets who made their debuts on the same card, Michael Chiesa and Neil Magny. They're both looking to move up in the division, so the line is drawn and there can be only one!

It's Part 2 of this week's podcast, AND we hit the UFC!!!

So, Saturday, the anticipation of Bruce Buffer's "It's Tiiimmmeeee" was at its Apex. And UFC on ABC 1 had a LOT of weight on its shoulders. Not just the first card of the year, BUT, the first card on ABC. Man, did that deliver or what!!!

Austin Lingo & Jacob Kilburn opened the Prelims up right and Joselyne Edwards warmed everyone up for the main card with her fantastic debut

THEN, Punahele Soriano (keeps that O), Alessio Di Chirico and Jingliang Li bust it all open with their back to back KO's! Plus, Di Chirico stops Mr Highlight!!

Carlos Condit and Matt Brown gave us a fight that definitely didn't feel Jurassic!

AND, what can we say about the Main event, right! Calvin Katter vs Max Holloway brought us the fight this card and the start of 2021 deserved. Now, I did say 'Fight of the Year' contender, and yes, that was rash, considering it was 'The Holloway Show'. BUT, this fight was something else, as we saw Next Level Max and Tru Grit Calvin!!!

Robert Rodriguez new film 'We Can Be Heroes', has been tearing it up on Netflix and see's him revisit some old characters, Sharkboy and Lavagirl. It's about the kids of Earth's top superheroes, who have to learn to work together, when their parents are kidnapped by Alien's. It stars Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Pedro Pascal, YaYa Gosselin, Boyd Holbrook, Adriana Barraza, Sung Kang, Taylor Dooley, and Christian Slater

'Away' is an animated visual exploration created solely by Gints Zilbalodis. It's a silent story about a boy who finds himself stranded and pursued by an ominous dark monster. His companion along the way is a small chick who he saves. And together they on a search for understanding and home.

Shudder today are releasing to the world, 'Hunted', the new film from Vincent Paronnaud. It's a hybrid survival, revenge feature, story, which follows Eve, a young lady who after a hectic week looks to unwind at a bar. She flirts with a guy, who along with his brother attempt to torture and kill her. But, Eve is a fighter and she's all about survival...along with revenge! It definitely puts a new spin on Little Red Riding Hood!

It feels like an AGE, but FINALLY, the UFC is back!

The first card of the year not only has a fantastic main event, but it's also the return to network TV. With the entire main card airing on @abcnetwork

So many fights to look forward too, but gotta shot out the last three of the night!

We have the return of Santiago Ponzinibbio going up against a really tough Li Jingliang.

Then the Co-main is essentially eight years in the making! We finally get to see what would happen if Carlos Condit goes up against Matt Brown!

'Paradise City' Guns N' Roses - 1987

As we're still waiting on events, we went into FightPass and checked out the last two Cage Warriors of 2020

Cage Warriors 118 had some good fights, I was really impressed with Matt Inman's performance. He moved up a weight class, hadn't fought in 3 years. And even though he lost to Matthew Bonner, he dominated that last round!

In the Co-main, Leonardo Damiani made his promotional debut, on short notice and still had an impressive performance.

BUT, in the Main, Jamie Richardson went up against Nathias Frederick for the middleweight belt. Richardson looked good, until Frederick went full beast mode and turned out the lights!

Then the next day at Cage Warriors 119, Ian Garry impressed, but it was all about the title fights. 

The Co-main saw Agy Sardari go up against Jack Grant for the Lightweight strap and Sardari really turned it on in those championship rounds to become, 'And New'.

Then in the Main event Morgan Charriere and Perry Goodwin tussled for the Featherweight Championship. And Charriere had movement like classic Anderson Silva. He's either gonna hold that belt for a long time, or be in the UFC real soon
