Echo Chamber

No UFC, but it was still slick weekend for fight fans!

The 'Legacy Fighting Alliance' got things jumping on Friday with their 98th event and it's the second time with the announce team of Ron Kruck, Laura Sanko, and Alan Jouban and I think we can say, they are killing it!!!

We had seven fights on the main card AND five ended in a finish!

Zac Pauga used some heavy ground & pound to get the first round finish and go 2-0, Joshua Silveira put even more respect on the name, with a superb display of jiu jitsu to get a first round rear naked choke. Tabatha Ricci was like, OK, I'll give you a quicker submission finish, how bout belly down armbar! And Dakota Bush shows what happens when you miss weight after refusing a catchweight fight....a head kick KO, that's what!!!

Lucas Clay did those genes proud, as he put on dominant ground display in the Co-main!!

And, in the Main Josh Fremd keeps his composure, steps to the side and ends the night in the first round with a thunderous hook!!!

Saturday was time for 'Glory Kickboxing' to do their thing, it was the first event of the year!

The card was stacked and the champions definitely did shone bright!

Tiffany Van Soest showed that reach and height aren't a thing, when you have experience, talent & fire in your soul. It was a masterful performance that had her hearing "And Still".

Cédric Doumbé and Murthel Groenhart added another layer to their rivalry, but this night was Doumbe's. The body, head, combo was straight money for 'Le Melleur' as he leaves Rotterdamn, still with the gold.

Alex Pereira got the split decision over Artem Vakhitov (which, was surprising, as Vakhitov seemed to control the last two), so he's now officially the two division Glory Champion.

AND, the night had a four man Heavyweight tournament!!

Rico Verhoeven put on a pressure heavy, controlled performance to get the win over Hesdy Gerges. Tarik Khbabez survived a straight war with Levi Rigters, but Rico's leg kicks and hammering attack was too much in the final. 'The King' ends the night with a shiny trophy to go with that heavyweight strap

So, let's break it all down, in today's (ep 143) @ChinCheckPod

'Kill Us All' by Twista - 2004

Well, Friday is here, so that means we are turning our gaze to what's been happening in the world of #MMA

Alessio Di Chirico took a  stance on interviews after his BIG win at 'UFC on ABC 1' but hasn't really clarified it!

Has Ottman Azaiter put his entire career on the line, due to the 'way' he was cut from UFC (safety violations)!?!

Brett Okamoto recently spoke to Kamaru Usman and Usman went into his mindset heading into 'UFC 258'!

Casey Kenney was recently on 'The Timbo & Sugarshow' with Tim Welch & Sean O'Malley and made a comment about Megan Anderson. What should happen now, that's the question on many's lips!?! Cris Cyborg commented on Anderson's situation, but DAMN, the hypocrisy!!!

Raquel Pennington was just handed a six month suspension from USADA, BUT, in light of what actually happened, could fighters benefit from new safeguards to help avert these incidents!?!

Today's (ep 142) @ChinCheckPod breaks it all down, so let's get with it!

- Alessio Di Chirico doesn't really clarify his stance on interviews

- Ottman Azaiter cut from UFC for safety violations!!!

- Kamaru Usmans mindset going into UFC 258!

- Should Casey be punished for his Anderson comments?

- Cris Cyborg comments on Anderson situation, but DAMN, the hypocrisy!!!

- Do we need new safeguards in place for USADA, in light of the Pennington incident?

Today's @EchoChamberFP comes with thrills and action! Two films both dealing with situations no one would want to find themselves in!

We start things off with 'Songbird' which is from Adam Mason. It's a pandemic thriller, set four years into the virus, which is now COVID-23. Nico, a bike courier, has fallen in love Sara, who is living with her Grandmother. So the two can never be in contact. Starring in the piece is KJ Apa, Sofia Carson, Craig Robinson, Bradley Whitford, Peter Stormare, Alexandra Daddario, Paul Walter Hauser, and Demi Moore.

We bring things home with Ludovico Di Martino's new film 'The Beast' (aka 'La Belva') Which is about an ex officer in the Special Forces who's ostracised himself from his wife and two kids, because of PTSD and trauma he's been trying to bury. PEOPLE, I am still vibing off this weekend’s action, UFC & NFL!!!

- UFC 257: Poirier vs. McGregor 2

Go check out more on my website: Podcaphilia.

We're one sleep away from the first PPV of the year AND, the close of this run on FightIs land!

There was a LOT of drama that went down, but, luckily we only lost one fight!

At the start of the night Movsar Evloev gets a chance to really show where he's at. As he faces the vet Nik Lentz who we know won't just lay down to die.

It will be interesting to see who from Julianna Peña vs Sara McMann is going to be able to possibly get back to that Bantamweight title

And Matt Frevola & Arman Tsarukyan did come to the island to fight each other, things just fell that way. So can Frevola make Tsarukyan's weight miss work against him. Or will the Armenian add a new name to his hit list!

Amanda Ribas and Marina Rodriguez get the Main card going, and this fight will tell us, is Ribas the star we think she's going to be

Then Jessica Eye and Joanne Calderwood get to settle their bad blood and maybe get another title shot whilst doing it.

The Co-main finally see's Michael Chandler step into the Octagon and all eyes are on him. He wants to win big, fight the winner of the main and then grab that title. However, Dan Hooker has a completely different narrative on his mind. And after training with the best, he's aiming to show that he's not peripheral, he's the whole damn show!

Then, it took six years for them to get back at it, BUT, Dustin Poirier & Conor McGregor square up. Dustin feels he's a different fighter from the first time. BUT, Conor isn't here to play games, he's here to take over!!!

Today's (ep 139b) @ChinCheckPod breaks it all down, so let's get with it!

'Bad Mother F*cker' (feat. Kid Rock) by Machine Gun Kelly - 2015

There was a lot of pressure on 'UFC on ESPN 20' shoulders after the great event that had gone down the previous Saturday. It was a HUGE card, 14 fights and fighters understood the spotlight they'd been given.

Manon Fiorot set the alarms off right away with her blistering performance! If you didn't know her, she made it clear you wouldn't forget her!

Then Umar Nurmagomedov showed he's definitely a different type of fighter, but just as deadly as his cousin!

Mason Jones and Mike Davis put on a back & forth war. But it was Davis who was able to get the edge in the third and walk away with the W!

When we got to the Main card Lerone Murphy, Matt Schnell and Viviane Araujo all put on very solid, dominant performances.

It was Ike Villanueva and Warlley Alves who reversed their fortunes and rocked the house with sensational TKO's.

AND, when it came to the Main event, Michael Chiesa really worked the hell out of a game Neil Magny. He put a new definition on 'smothering top' and made five rounds look simple. Chiesa made a big claim for a top Welterweight fight moving forward!

Today's (ep 139a) @ChinCheckPod breaks it all down, so let's get with it!
