(Chinese) We are great beings, not weak ones. Humans have the greatest status and can do anything. We can accomplish as much as we believe we can. Buddha said all beings are the same as Buddha. That is, beings have the same amount of merits, but they are unable to use them because they do not know they are Buddhas. We should believe that we have the power to change our fixed karma and our environment. The more we practice spiritually, the better our concentration will be and the more we can change the ...

(English) Excerpts from Supreme Master Ching Hai’s lecture: Only when we are sincere, will God bring us to the path that is suitable for us. After we have found that path we must be careful not to seek blessings from any other source, since they will lower our spiritual level. The Quan Yin meditation is the highest and best and through Master's guidance we can advance ourselves, by not struggling and by being patient. When we die, we will know at that time, what initiation means. Although our ...

(Chinese) It is an Indian tradition that one becomes Buddha after a special ceremony in which a particular paint is pressed upon the place of the wisdom eye. After that, he is recognized as Master, Teacher, Enlightened Master and Buddha. This is the Indian way of enlightenment and wisdom eye-opening. After the wisdom eye-opening, one becomes Buddha. Initiation is also a time of enlightenment and opening of the wisdom eye so you can see the light. This is the true enlightenment and wisdom eye-opening. When ...

(Chinese) From the top of our head to the four extremities, there is one area that can be called dark which blocks our wisdom from passing through; even if it does pass through, it may change negatively. Therefore, it is probably that our mind is thinking of very good things, our wisdom is also thinking about very good things but when it is put into action, it turns out badly. That dark place is like a closed door which should be opened so that wisdom can flow down. The Wisdom Eye has two doors. The highest ...

(Chinese) Every human, animal, and being is illuminated by the Buddha light and enveloped by the power of great compassion. Therefore, we are all brothers and sisters. Each country is like one individual room, one here and one there. If we own the big mansion in which we live, then can't we freely run through all the rooms in our mansion? We wouldn't feel that Shakyamuni Buddha is Indian; we are all "earthlings". There wouldn't be so many wars if every country understood this principle. I hope that one day ...

(Chinese) The Himalayas are well-known as an area for spiritual practice. The weather is very cold there. There are many Gurus in India, so you can see their footprints everywhere. But it's very difficult to find them. Some spiritual practitioners dig an ice cave and live inside without wearing any clothes. Some don't eat anything. The air there is very clean. So by practicing their own methods together with an additional technique, they can go without eating nor do they feel the cold even in winter. Using ...

(Chinese) What does Great Master mean? It means Buddha. The word Buddha means a highly enlightened person with light and great wisdom in Sanskrit. So with respect, we call him Buddha, a great master, a true teacher, a great teacher, a great and benevolent advisor, or great bodhisattva-mahasattva, etc. They have more or less the same meaning. The highest respect we can give Master is by "practicing" diligently, knowing who we are and becoming the same as Master. These people are the most respectful sons of ...

(Chinese) What does it mean by being a Buddhist? A Buddhist is someone who is very kind and virtuous, practices spiritually, and at the very least keeps the five precepts: no killing, no stealing, no alcohol, no telling lies and no adultery. If he believes in Jesus Christ and also keeps the five precepts, he can be regarded as a Buddhist as well. One cannot become a Buddha by being vegetarian or vegan only; however, if he is not vegan, it’s also impossible for him to attain Buddhahood. Besides adopting a ...

(Chinese) The blessing power of an enlightened Master should be kept in our bag, to be used for ourselves alone, and not to be leaked or hidden away. It should be digested. If you speak about it in public, it means that you cannot digest this power. Talking about your inner experiences will create a lot of maya hindrances for you. If you have any good experiences, you can write them down. Or you can talk to Master if you cannot digest them. You should still practice diligently and not rely completely on ...

(Chinese) Enlightened Masters teach only the same thing - to save and liberate beings; they transmit the same method, the one and only method for liberation, that is the Quan Yin Method. Whatever it is called, be it Pure Land Method, Universal Gate Method, Prajnaparamita Method, or the Diamond Method, the name does not matter, it is all the same. As long as it leads to liberation, it is the Quan Yin Method. All methods are the same as long as there is an enlightened Master and the power of transmitting the ...
