  • Ep. 22: Noah And #RedforEd
In this very special and important episode, I chat with Noah Karvelis, the man behind the #RedforEd movement in Arizona. If you're unfamiliar with this movement, check it out on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. It's all about convincing the powers that be that Arizona teachers need better pay. Listen for yourself and hear what all the buzz is about directly from the man, Noah. There's no food talk on this episode, just food for thought. #ArizonaEducatorsUnited #RaisesNotLies As always, please subscribe to the podcast on Apple Podcast, Google Play, SoundCloud, Stitcher Radio, iHeartRadio, and other podcast provider platforms out there. • Ep. 21: Dan And The Nearpod PioNear Summit
In this mashup episode, I sit down with Dan Kreiness while at the Nearpod PioNear Summit in Hollywood Beach, FL. Not only are Dan and I fellow PioNears, we're also podcasters. He is the creator and host of The Leader Of Learning Podcast which focuses on leadership, specifically in education. While at the summit, we linked up with fellow PioNears and made the best connections ever, human connections. We discussed all things Nearpod, education, leadership, and of course, food. The good folks at Nearpod treated us like royalty and gave us all a unique opportunity to interact and mingle with like-minded, passionate educators...in Miami...in February...where it was 82 degrees! Not only did we see other PioNears, many of us saw things like wild iguanas, manatees, baby hammerhead sharks, and jellyfish on the beach. We saw these with our eyes and not our hands. Anyway, here's the episode and a huge shout out the all #NearpodPioNear folks and the Nearpod staff for this unique event. Buen Provecho!

  • Ep. 20 Laura, Hyperdocs, and Sandwiches
In this episode, I sit down and break bread with Laura Moore to discuss her addiction to Hyperdocs. She manages not one, but two separate blogs. Learn Moore Stuff is specific to teachers and Rock The Lab is designed with students in mind. This interview took place at La Panaderia sandwich shop here in San Antonio so next time you're in town, check it out. Please subscribe to the podcast on your podcast player of choice so you don't miss out when a new episode drops and make sure you leave a review. Buen provecho!

  • Ep. 19: #NotAtTCEA And Why You Should Attend Conferences
In this episode, I discuss how I attended TCEA 2018 without actually attending TCEA 2018. I met up with the good folks from Nearpod and Flipgrid at a dinner each company hosted and more importantly, caught up with my friends and fellow #edtech folks whom I have connected with on social media. I also discuss the most important outcome of attending conferences like this, the human connections that are made as a result. In case you haven't hear of the EdTexicans, you will in this episode. Check it out and as always, buen provecho!

  • Ep. 18: Marshall Carroll and All This Science
Happy New Year! In this episode, I interview Marshall Carroll and we discuss his student-led podcast, All This Science. He actually reached out to me via the Reflections page on this website and wanted to share what he's doing in regards to educational podcasts. Not only is he doing great things with his students, he's also officially the 4th smartest person in Canada. Don't believe me, have a listen and as always, Buen Provecho!

  • Ep. 17: Holly, Tanya, and The Google Infused Classroom
In episode 17, I chat with Holly Clark and Tanya Avrith to discuss their book, "The Google Infused Classroom". This is a great conversation about how the book came to be, who the book is geared towards, and of course, international food. I have to say that this interview made me envision these two ladies as the female version of Dale and Brennan from Step-Brothers. Their energy and relationship is clear in this interview and it's easy to see why these two ladies wrote this book together. As an added bonus, they are offering a free copy of the book to two lucky listeners. All you have to do is tweet your thoughts of the episode using the hashtags #edtechbites and #infusedclassroom. They will randomly choose two lucky tweeters to receive this added bonus. Please check out Tanya's and Holly's blogs to learn more about them and what they can add to your PLN. Also, please leave a review of the EdTechBites podcast on Apple Podcast, Google Play, or whatever app/stream you use. Buen Provecho!

  • Ep. 16: Leslie, Great Leadership, And Filipino Food
In this week's episode, I chat with Leslie Hazle Bussey from GLISI, the Georgia Leadership Institute for School Improvement. We discuss great leadership and what a great leader does in order to lead and inspire. She uses great analogies between leading a staff and hosting a meal and includes what I consider, the quote of the decade. Listen to the interview and listen for it. We also touch upon the importance of connections and community and how they tie into the overall topic of leadership. If that isn't enough, we also discuss some great Filipino food - specifically chicken adobo, pancit, and lumpia. Make sure you subscribe to the EdTech Bites Podcast and please leave a review. Also, tell a friend and/or colleague about the podcast and spread the word. As always, enjoy and Kain Tayo!

  • Ep. 15: Josh, Motivating Teachers, And Waffles
In episode 15, I interview Josh Howard who is an Educational Technology Coordinator in Missouri. He has done many interesting things in his district to motivate teachers to step out of their comfort zone, take risks, and begin integrating technology into their classrooms. He created Gettin' Steamy and Tech Wars videos to let his teachers know that he's not afraid to take risks. Not only that, he's a self-proclaimed waffle connoisseur. I'm not a big fan of these textured pancakes but he definitely schools me in the ways of the waffle. The conversation is completely natural and you'll find it hard to not be inspired by him. Please check out this episode and don't forget to subscribe, leave a review, and tell a friend about the podcast. As always, buen provecho!

  • Ep. 14: Amy, Coaching, And Biscuits
In this episode, I chat via Google Hangouts with Amy Storer. She is an Instructional Coach in Montgomery, Texas. She's had various roles throughout her educational journey and is also one of the few who can say that her and her mother taught at the same school, at the same time. We discuss some of the Do's and Do Not's of instructional coaching and she shares some gems with me about her experiences. In addition, we also talk about some southern cooking and one of my favorites, biscuits! Check out what she has to say and don't forget to subscribe and tell a friend. Check out the EdTech Bites Facebook page and please leave a review of the podcast on whatever platform you use. As always, Buen Provecho!

  • Ep. 13: Claudio, #Singasong, And West Coast Eats
In this special episode, I sit down with Claudio Zavala Jr. to discuss his contributions to the Educational and EdTech world including, #singasong. If you're unfamiliar with #singasong, it's a very innovative way he has incorporated Flipgrid to spread some #positivenoise around the globe. If you'd like to know more about it, listen to this episode. He's come a long way on his educational journey and has taught various grade levels and now serves as an Instructional Technology Coordinator. We share many similarities being that we're both born and raised in San Diego, California and both graduated from San Diego State University. We probably crossed paths in the past but never realized it. Now, we're recording a podcast together discussing two passions of ours, educational technology and west coast eats. This was definitely a fun episode and conversation that continued even after I hit the "Stop" button.  Don't take my word for it though, check it out for yourself. Don't forget to follow Claudio on Twitter and share your voice using #singasong. Don't forget to subscribe to the podcast, share it with others, and leave a review. As always, enjoy and buen provecho!
