In Episode 14, I was able to chat with Jesús F. Martinez better known as Pakito. He was born and raised in La Piedad, Michoacan, México. Pakito details his experiences in México and how education compares here in California. He was able to migrate to the United States at the age of 15 years old and enrolled at Grant Union High School. While in high school he overcame being labeled an english learner, ignored by counselors, support staff and the pressure of getting a job from his family. He is now a student at American River College and is working towards fulfilling his life dream. His dream is to work in a prison. He wants to be that inspiring figure and story for those who need it.
