We sit down with Nathan Reusch, one of the organizers of NKC Fall Fest 2024, it’s happening in North KC/RiverNorth KC on Saturday, November 2 from noon-5PM. We’ll hear about the community fest and play music from the four acts on the lineup: The Freedom Affair, Honeybee, Timbers, and Whiskey Mash Band.

After that, we’ll chat with Nathan about new releases from his record label, The Record Machine. We’ll hear from Rarish, Bobcat Attack, Black Light Animals, Runi Salem, and Eyelid Kid.

And then we’ll wrap things up with the new single from Chase The Horseman, “Silver Liner.”

We’ll celebrate what’s happening in KC right now and share music from KC acts that we’re turning into Jock Jams and also play songs about the love of the game and our boys in blue. After all, “How can you not be romantic about baseball?”

On the show we’ll hear music from Sam Billen and DanBillenMusic, MAD LiBBY, Laura Noble, Tech N9ne, Mac Lethal, IVORY BLUE, Sara Swenson, Run With It, The Royal Chief, Bob Walkenhorst with a children’s choir, and brand new music from a brand new KC band called Baldwin. We welcome in special guest, Enrique Javier Chi of the band Making Movies. Last Friday they released a great live album that was recorded at The Folly Theater last year. During the broadcast, we'll hear music from that album and talk about their rooftop concert happening tomorrow night at Crossroads Hotel The forecast couldn't be any better for a rooftop show!

After we catch up with Enrique we'll dive into a stack of new releases from KC area musicians. It's a show in two parts! The first part, The Creature Comforts have a reunion show coming up on Friday, Sept 27 at recordBar and are releasing their album Teaching Little Fingers To Play for the first time on vinyl. Billy Brimblecom Jr. and Christopher Tolle will stop by, hang out, and tell us some great stories about recording the album with Ed Rose and how you can turn the noise of breaking a beer bottle into percussion.

For the second part of the show, we'll preview some of the acts playing at the Plaza Art Fair this weekend. In addition to 240 artists showcasing their work and 20 restaurants serving up food and drink, 40 bands/singer-songwriters will play on three stages over the weekend. Tune in and hear selections from The Phantastics, Nathan Corsi and My Atomic Daydream, Erin Eades, The Canterberries , Say That Again, Lorna Kay, Christena Graves, Leah Sproul, and The Village Prairie. 

We welcome in special guests, the band Run With It. They’re stopping by to hang out and debut some new music, talk about upcoming shows, and preview a big community fest happening just down the road a bit from KC, Camp Leavenworth on September 20 and 21.

They’ll also be your pre-game entertainment out at Arrowhead this Sunday, playing the Ford Tailgate District in the parking lot before the game. And they’re also on deck to headline the Blue Springs Fall Fun Fest on Friday, Sept 20.

Also on the show, we’ll hear from other acts playing Camp Leavenworth including Emma Jo, The Champagne, Starhaven Rounders, and Exit 13. But before we get to all of that on the show today at 6PM, we’ll announce the lineup for Apocalypse Meow. Meow is an annual event for the Midwest Music Foundation and this year marks the 17th year of this live-giving and live-saving fundraiser concert. MMF is a non-profit organization supporting music and empowering musicians. The annual event is on Saturday, November 2 at recordBar.

We sit down with a special guest. Recently the European leg of The Eras Tour wrapped up and two people on that tour were excited to leave Europe and hop on a plane headed towards Kansas City. One of those people is Taylor Swift, and she wasn’t available so we got the other person, and that’s Eric Fain. Eric just wrapped up 48 shows with Taylor Swift and Paramore working production for the biggest tour EVER.

In addition to working in production, he is also an amazing musician. On the show at 6PM today we’ll hear music from his project called Bahroot as well as selections from Taylor Swift, Paramore, Amber DeLaRosa, Poppy, and Doubledrag. And of course we’ll talk about The Eras Tour - things he saw, the things he did, the things that blew his mind, and we’ll find out how many friendship bracelets he was given along the way.
