We’re broadcasting LIVE from The Beer Hall at Boulevard Brewery. It will be a pre-party for the Kansas City Irish Fest, which is coming up on Labor Day weekend at Crown Center. On the show today will be special guests, The Canterberries and Nick Carswell of the band Carswell & Hope.

You’re invited to come hang out with us today at The Beer Hall! The show will be live at 6PM, followed by a FREE concert at 7PM from The Canterberries. It’s an all-ages and family-friendly night.

On the show, we’ll talk with The Canterberries about the acts they’re excited to see at KCIF and memories from past fests. We’ll also play music from some acts traveling a very long way to play at KCIF for the first time. Then Nick Carswell will join us to talk about the MixTape portion of the fest, it’s one of my favorite parts of the fest.

During the broadcast, you’ll hear music from The Canterberries, Elias Alexander, Corner Boy, Screaming Orphans, Mundy, SÍOMHA, Hermitage Green, and Julia Othmer.

Today on the Eight One Sixty we welcome into our studios the band Hembree. 

Hembree’s brand new album, Better Days just came out and we’re going to play the entire album, in order, and talk about each song. Also, we’re live without a net and no clock, if we need more than 60 minutes the show will go long so we can fit in the entire album!

Hembree has two shows this week here in KC, and less than 10 tix remain! They’re playing at Crossroads Hotel on the rooftop on Wednesday and Thursday as part of their Rooftop Concert Series.

It should be a fun show as we catch up with our friends in Hembree.

We'll dive into the lineup for the 20th annual KKFI Crossroads Music Fest (CMFKC), it's happening on August 24 and 25 featuring 30+ bands on 7 stages over 2 days. On the broadcast, we'll play music from these acts on the lineup: Flight Attendant, Keo&Them, Jamogi, Brent Windler, FlareThaRebel, Rachel Maxann, Supermassive Black Holes, Zee Underscore, and Talking Backwards. We'll also hear one from Grand Marquis who are celebrating their 25th anniversary as a band and will be playing at The Folly Theater on August 25 as part of CMF. 

This Tuesday, July 30 at 6PM on the Eight One Sixty radio show on 90.9 The Bridge we will be celebrating our 500th show! 500 shows, it’s so crazy!

Sarah Bradshaw will join me live in the studio as we look back on some great memories during the broadcast. We’ll share stories, we’ll probably get super emotional, and we’ll also play some special live in-studio recordings from along the way.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been listening to shows from our archive (available to you on The Bridge website/app) and it’s been an amazing ride and privilege to do what we do every Tuesday at 6PM with the show for the past 500 weeks.
