Eileen Hall is a modern explorer. With her project TAYOS, she leads expeditions into unmapped caves in Ecuador. According to her website, “TAYOS draws inspiration from Ecuador’s legendary Tayos Caves to explore our relationship with nature and its role in our wellbeing. By weaving together ecological reconnection, art, music, architecture and neuroscience, TAYOS draws on lessons offered by the cave to create a catalyst for a recalibration of our relationship with our environment and ourselves.”
She’s also a painter who uses art to explore states of consciousness. In this episode we discuss her upbringing inside a family of explorers, her efforts to raise awareness around the state of the Amazonian rainforest, and why all exploration is, at its heart, a journey of self-discovery.
