The Ashmead family arrived in the Barossa Valley in 1979. A real estate agent in the Nariootpa subregion sold them a house and threw in a vineyard to sweeten and seal the deal. Those were the days. Fast forward, 40 odd years, a Jimmy Watson and two generations of crafting fabulous Barossa Valley wines and Elderton Wines continues to go from Strength to Strength under the leadership of second-generation Cameron and Allister Ashmead. Allister Ashmead sits down with me to talk Barossa Valley, and to share both his story and the Elderton story. The Elderton Wines story is marked by watching for and capitalising on opportunities and striving for brilliance through innovation. You can listen to Alister share the rest of it. A massive thanks to Allister for joining me.
