Reacting Versus Responding to Life's Challenges

There are a lot of people that react to any kind of obstacle, setback, or challenge. Reactions are reflexive, ego-driven, and only consider the short-term outcome. Reactions make you feel better, but don’t resolve an issue effectively.

Responding is different. It’s intelligent, practical, and considers the long-term implications of that course of action.

People that react struggle and are known for making impulsive decisions. Those that respond have fewer struggles in life. As it turns out, the biggest hassles in life are usually of your own making.

Let’s consider an example that highlights the differences between reacting and responding:

Imagine that you have a horrible boss. Today at work, he berates you for something that isn’t your fault. He calls you a mean name. He says that you’re a worthless employee. You leave work enraged and convinced that you can’t take it anymore.

Reacting to this situation might entail quitting in a blaze of glory. You march in the next day and tell him exactly what you think of him. You might even spit in his eye, stomp on his foot, and shove your resignation letter into his mouth.

However, when you get home, you realize that the job market is tight, you have no savings, and no employment prospects.

Responding to this situation might look something like this:

You determine that you need to find another job. You work on your resume. You put out feelers to everyone you know that have or know of a position that’s suitable for you. You get in touch with a recruiter and let them know that you’re looking.

You also cut back on your expenses and save some money just in case you lose your job.

One of these options is short-sighted and risky. The other is thoughtful and logical. One is likely to end in misery, while the other is likely to end in success.

How can you strengthen your odds of success when challenges arise?

Following this process will help you to respond rather than react:

Steady yourself. It’s hard to be intelligent, logical, and practical when your emotions are high. Never make an important decision when you’re not cool, calm and collected. Take the time you need. Mull it over. Consider your options.
Identify the problem. What is the issue that you need to resolve? Think about what you want to change. Avoid changing a bunch of other things that may have a negative impact on your life. In the example above, you’d get away from your boss, but drastically change your income, too.
Be clear on the outcome you desire. It’s just as important to consider the outcome you desire. You might hate your job, but you don’t just want to get away from it. You’ll want a good landing place, too.
Make an intelligent plan. Create a plan that resolves your issue and gives you the outcome you desire. Reacting only removes the initial problem. It doesn’t provide a great outcome. A good plan does both.
Execute that plan. Use your plan. There are a lot of people that are great at making plans, but never execute them. You don’t want to be one of those people. Put your plan to the test and see what happens.

If you’re someone that reacts to the challenges in your life, you already know the additional challenges it can bring. It’s the perfect example of “out of the frying pan and into the fire.”

The Magic of Taking Things One Day at a Time

Alcoholic Anonymous encourages its members to take things one day at a time. Otherwise, attempting too much too soon can interfere with achieving sobriety or any major goal.

It’s natural to become overwhelmed if you try to imagine giving up alcohol or any powerful habit on a permanent basis. It’s less distressing to think in terms of drinking just water for the next 24 hours or skipping a single happy hour.

Similarly, if you expect to go directly from being a couch potato to running a marathon, you might give up before you even finish your first mile.

With any goal, you’re more likely to succeed with a gradual approach that allows you to boost your confidence and motivation. See what happens when you keep your focus on the present.

How to Live One Day at a Time:

Set priorities. Figure out what’s important to you and what you want to achieve. Start with the areas that will have the most significant impact on your quality of life or pick something that will give you an easy victory to build upon.
Create a timeline. You’re more likely to follow through with a commitment if you specify the time period. Aim to stop complaining for a single day or even an hour.
Limit distractions. Stay focused on your goals. Write them down to make them more concrete. Think about the purpose behind your actions and change your environment if necessary.
Persevere through obstacles. Plan ahead for what to do in case of setbacks. If you slip up, forgive yourself, and move on.
Celebrate your results. One of the advantages of a short time frame is that you can see the outcomes quickly. Thank yourself or use a tangible reward, like a spa day or a fancy coffee drink.
Evaluate your progress. Stick to your plans but be flexible. Adjusting your strategy may help you to achieve even more.

    Examples of Daily Resolutions:

Consume one more vegetable. Do one thing to upgrade your diet. An easy place to start is adding one more serving of vegetables or fruit. Drink a kale smoothie for breakfast or have a salad with lunch.
Ride your bike. Set aside time for a physical activity you enjoy. Invite a friend to join you for a bike ride after dinner or play a game of tennis in the morning before work.
Go to bed early. Do you struggle to get enough sleep or grow weary during the day? Move your bedtime back 15 minutes each night until you can wake up naturally feeling refreshed.
Thank your partner. Let your significant other know how much you appreciate them. Tell them what you admire about them or cook their favorite dinner.
Read to your kids. Spend quality time with your children. Read them a story before bed or help them with their homework. Turn off the TV, so you can do arts and crafts or play catch outdoors.
Take a class. Learn something new each day. Sign up for a course online. Listen to a foreign language learning app while you’re brewing coffee or soaking in the tub.
Take time to reflect and pray. Cultivate your spirituality. Start with 5 minutes of quiet reflection and gradually increase the time if that feels comfortable. Visit your library or browse online for

Podcast: 5 Tips for Creating a Life You Love
Free Circle of Life quiz by visiting www,elevatelifeproject.com/life/
Begin today – think through the dreams that are in your heart By using effective time management, your life will never be the same

When the alarm goes off in the morning, do you curse its existence? Is there any part of your day where you don't feel unhappy or incomplete? There's a point in everyone's life where they realize they don't love their current life path and crave some positive change.

In most cases, you might think a complete overhaul is what you need. But you don't have to make such a drastic change. Sometimes all you need to feel fulfilled is to make a few changes.

The perfect life does not exist. But it's possible to create a life you love.

Here are some tips to help you:

Determine what you'd like to change. The most important question you can ask yourself is, "What do I want to change?" If you don't know your current values and goals, how can you ever expect to come up with a life worth living?

Instead of just changing one thing, it's essential to determine why you want the change in the first place. You might want to strengthen your relationships or change your career path. Whatever the case may be, it's essential to know your goal before working on your strategy.

Be honest with yourself. As we grow up, our goals change. The things we desire change. That's normal. One thing that shouldn't change, however, is your integrity.

Never settle for a "good enough" life if you truly want something better. If you own a business and are unhappy with the way it runs, take the steps necessary to fix it rather than just working around the problems.

It's easy to overlook your values and morals when you're stuck in a rut or dealing with circumstances beyond your control. But remember, there's a difference between compromising and settling.

Assume the attitude of rolling with the punches. In the same vein as honesty, it's also vital that you are open to change. Sometimes things happen that will throw a wrench in your plans. Sometimes circumstances beyond your control can make it challenging to achieve your goal. But nothing lasts forever.

You can achieve most goals and dreams if you keep trying despite the setbacks. You'll inevitably face roadblocks. But you can still reach your ultimate destination if you're willing to roll with the punches and never give up.

Leave the past behind you. Sometimes the most challenging thing about creating a better life is letting go of the old one. You might have difficulty leaving behind friends or the life your parents gave you. But if those things are holding you back from what you want, you might want to leave them behind.

You can't change the past. The only way to create a better future is to accept what has happened and move forward with your head held high. Far too often, people spend time in the past, trying to repair an irreparable situation. It’s important to avoid doing that.
Focus on what you can change - the present - and keep moving forward.

Make happiness your rudder. A rudder is a steering device that directs the boat where it needs to go. You can't steer a ship without a rudder. Likewise, happiness is the key to a good life and the most important goal you can set for yourself.

Life may not be cupcakes and rainbows. But if you strive for happiness every step of your life, you will find that every storm has a silver lining.

One important key to a successful life is living by your values. But too often, people get stuck in a rut or face circumstances beyond their control, and they compromise their values for the sake of survival.

In most cases, it's not necessary to make drastic changes to feel fulfilled. It can be as simple as making minor tweaks that lead you towards happiness and give your life meaning.

The 7 Most Important Things for Achieving Goals

Everyone has heard of goals and the power of goals to shape your future. But most people don’t have a good understanding of how to achieve goals. Consequently, most never even set goals.

Understanding what it takes to achieve a goal will greatly enhance your odds of success.

    Consider these ideas:

A proper goal. Most people don’t have goals to begin with. Those that do have goals often have goals that are ineffective. You can’t achieve a goal without having a goal.Avoid setting goals that don’t excite you. What’s the point? It’s easier to achieve a goal that you find motivating.
A clear conclusion. How will you know when you’ve achieved your goal? Be specific and have a way of measuring your progress.
A deadline. Goals never seem to be accomplished without a deadline attached. You can keep waiting for “tomorrow” to get started if you don’t have a deadline to meet. Then, that “tomorrow” never comes.
Goals are more likely to be achieved if you regularly visualize yourself being successful. Imagine what it will be like when you meet your goal. The inability to picture the achievement of your goal suggests that you don’t believe you can do it.
Affirm that you’re the type of person that can achieve your goal. Think of the attributes you need to have to be successful. Write several affirmations that support those attributes and use them daily. Recite them to yourself at least three times each day, preferably aloud.
The right information. Imagine you have a goal of playing a difficult piece of music on the piano, but you believe the best way to do that is to do 1,000 push-ups each day. You might have a great goal and be super motivated, but you don’t have a clue how to achieve your goal. You need the right knowledge.
There’s a great appeal to the idea of making your wishes known to the universe and then just relaxing until some mystical force delivers what you want. However, action is also necessary to bring about a real change. Figure out what you need to do and do it.
The ability to deal with discomfort. Pursuing any significant goal will create discomfort. There’s no way around it. It’s necessary to learn how to minimize that discomfort as much as possible and be able to deal with whatever remains.Discomfort can come in many forms. It might be the fear of failure. It might be some actual failure. It could be the discomfort of making cold calls and dealing with rejection. It might be the discomfort of learning something you’ve never done before.
Perhaps giving up your favorite distractions so you have time to work on your goal creates discomfort.
Whatever your reason for discomfort in pursuing your goal, it’s important to discover ways you can overcome it.
Goals can take time. Big goals take more time. Add in a little failure and a little discomfort, and suddenly quitting can be appealing. You can’t achieve a goal if you quit before it’s accomplished. Perseverance is one of the most important traits anyone can possess.

There are many things you can do to make achieving your goals more likely. All of the items in this list are useful characteristics and tactics for a wide variety of life situations. Whether you’re trying to follow a diet or make a million dollars, these items are helpful.

Include these seven things and your results will be greatly enhanced and come more quickly.

How to Discover Your Hidden Talents

You have at least one incredible talent that lies completely beyond your awareness. You might even have more than one. There are so many things you’ve never tried, or even considered, that it’s practically guaranteed that you don’t even know what your greatest talent might be.

Imagine how much fuller your life could be if you were able to find a few of these hidden talents. You don’t know what you’re missing!

Discover your talents and learn more about yourself with these strategies:

Follow your interests. There’s one approach to life that is built on the belief that your interests will lead you to find your talents and purpose. All you have to do is get off the couch and pursue these interests and see where they take you.Whether you have a nagging urge to learn computer programming or a fascination with jazz piano, follow those breadcrumbs and see where they lead.
Make a list of all the interests you’ve never actually tried. Start with those that have been long-time interests and make plans to finally do them. Just pick one and do it. See what happens.
List your strengths. What are you good at? What can you naturally do that others seem to struggle at? What are strengths you’ve developed over the years? Given all of those strengths, what else do you think you’d be good at? This can be an effective way to identify talents you’ve never considered.
Ask for advice. Your friends and family know plenty of things about you that you don’t know about yourself. Ask them what they believe your strengths are. Ask them what they believe your talents are and how you could best use them. Most of your friends and family would be happy to do this for you.
What do you like to talk about? What do you like to talk about with your friends? Is there a topic that you always seem to mention every time you hang out? Do you like to share the latest scientific news with your friends? Are you always telling them how you’d like to visit Egypt someday?
What talents do you most admire in others? For example, if you are a huge fan of art, determine if you have a hidden artistic talent. Do you love good writing? Try your hand at some short stories.

Take an aptitude test. An intelligence test measures intelligence. An achievement test measures how much you know. An aptitude test determines what you would be good at. In a sense, it’s a test that will reveal your talents. There are plenty of aptitude tests you can take online. Take one and see what you discover.
Review your movie, book, and music collection. What kinds of movies do you like? Where do your reading interests lie? What type of music inspires you? Is there one idea that ties your media collection together? How can you leverage this interest?
Keep an open mind. Most of us made up our minds about ourselves a long time ago. Be open to discovering talents you never knew you had. It’s hard to discover anything with a closed mind.

How many talents do you currently know that you possess? What if you don’t even know about half of them? What if there are several amazing talents you don’t know about?

Given how limited everyone’s experience is, there’s no possible way you’ve found all your talents!

Have you ever been surfing? Tried playing the tuba? Tried making Baked Alaska? Tried your hand at oil painting? Attempted to write a horror novel? Maybe it’s time to finally follow your interests and see where they lead you.

Do you feel as though you are stuck in a rut, unable to move forward, or make progress and experiencing the same, tedious Groundhog Day on repeat? Here are secrets to your success and the top five habits that you can use to transform your life.

What Are The Benefits of Habits?

Building habits and routines has the potential to transform our lives through making small, seemingly insignificant changes each day.

These build up over time, and before you know it, you are enjoying a balanced, refreshing new life.

The habits you build are totally within your grasp - here are the five most effective habits to cultivate:

Change your wake-up time. One of the simplest and most effective changes that you can make is the time you wake up - this has a large impact on how your day will go.

Train your body to wake up earlier, and at the same time each day, and you will enjoy more time, energy, and it will get you into a positive mindset for the day. Plus, you can enjoy coffee in peace!

Have a schedule. Once you are up and about, take some time to schedule out your day. By drawing up a daily schedule, you are focusing on your priorities, eliminating distractions, and helping you decide which things are most important to you.

Having a schedule also offers you structure in your day, and this can be very useful for remaining motivated and engaged.
It also sets out all your responsibilities clearly, and this can help prevent you from feeling overwhelmed by all you have to do or caught out by unexpected tasks.

Set deadlines. Deadlines can be an amazing way to focus the mind and help you to achieve your goals. Rather than seeing them as restrictive or invasive, restructure your thinking to help you smash your goals and reduce procrastination.Challenge yourself to a certain deadline each day - you will feel amazing when you beat it!

Setting deadlines also helps you to remain accountable for your actions, and this is an important element of self-development and improvement.

Make time to move. As part of your daily schedule, take the time to pencil in a chance to move your body periodically throughout the day. Humans were not designed for a sedentary lifestyle, so write down the times when you will be exercising and be as active as possible throughout the day.

Set an alarm to remind you to stand up every 30 minutes, walk around the block on your lunchtime, or even just do some stretching while you are waiting for the kettle to boil.
Keeping fit and active is crucial for improving your life and will keep you healthy and strong as the years go by.

Remember self-care. You are the most important asset that you have, and it is important to take care of yourself before anyone else. This can seem counterintuitive, but it is extremely important for keeping yourself healthy, well and strong.Take time each day to watch your favorite movie or even just enjoy the sound of silence.

Don’t make work your whole life. Regardless of how much you love your job, it’s important to ensure that you have projects that are just for you and that ignite that inner spark and passion in your soul.

Transforming your life may seem like an immense task, but incorporating these five small, simple habits into your daily routine will soon allow you to enjoy incredible, life-changing results. What are you waiting for?

6 Ways That Billionaires Think Differently Than the Rest of Us

Are billionaires unusual creatures that are born different from the rest of us? Maybe. Maybe not. It doesn’t really matter.

What’s important is that billionaires have a different approach to the world that we can all learn from. People that have different results do things differently. And they do things differently because they think differently.

You might not be cut out to be a billionaire, but you can be much more financially successful than you’ve been demonstrating so far. Maybe all you need to do is to start thinking like a billionaire!

See how a billionaire thinks differently than most of us:

Billionaires have a long-term perspective. Most people are focused on surviving another week or planning their weekend. It’s a short-term perspective that never results in anything in the long-term.A billionaire is making decisions and taking action for objectives that are often 10 years or more into the future.
A regular person might have to scramble to survive in the short-term, but there’s no reason why he can’t spend some of his time working toward something that will make his life better five years from now. However, very few do.
Billionaires value time over money. For a billionaire, money isn’t really a thing anymore. Buying a $200,000 car is irrelevant when you make $10 million a month. Billionaires value time. That’s why they often have drivers, charter planes, and assistants.Conversely, many of us are willing to sacrifice too much time in order to save money. Sometimes this is necessary, but many people take it too far. As much as possible, use your time for a higher purpose.
Billionaires delegate. You can’t make a billion dollars all on your own. Many entrepreneurs struggle to grow beyond a certain level. It’s often because they won’t utilize other people to do the work. It’s better to make 1% from the efforts of 1,000 people than to make 100% from just your own effort.
Delegate as much as you can. Always be looking for more valuable ways to spend your time.
Billionaires focus on making more money, rather than saving. The typical financial guru touts cutting expenses to the bone and saving as much as possible. That’s fine if you want to sacrifice today to be wealthy in 40 years when you retire. However, it’s difficult to save a lot of money each month unless you make a lot of money.
Many billionaires are relatively tight with their money, but they primarily focus on making more money each year.
Save your money but put attention on boosting your income.
Billionaires have big goals. Billionaires aren’t aiming for a six-figure salary, a Corvette, or week in Rome. Their goals are more along the lines of taking over the telecommunications industry or owning a million acres of farmland. You can’t achieve big things without big goals.
Most billionaires like to work more than anything else. Some people look at billionaires and wonder what’s wrong with them.“Don’t they already have more money than they can ever spend?”
“Why don’t they travel, spend time with friends, or learn to play the piano?”
“I could find something better to do than just work if I were wealthy.”
What most people fail to realize is that really successful people love to work. That’s part of the reason they are so successful.
A billionaire isn’t always obsessed with the idea of stockpiling more money - they just enjoy seeing improvement and progress in their life more than they enjoy doing anything else.

How does your way of thinking compare to that of a billionaire? Which of the ideas above can you incorporate into your own thinking?

You don’t have to be worth a billion dollars to think like a billionaire.

4 Great Ways to Boost Your Self-Confidence FastStruggling with your confidence?
You’re not alone. We all strive to have more self-confidence. However, it can be difficult to come by at times. We often hold ourselves to unreasonably high standards, and this can have a negative impact on our self-esteem.
However, if you can learn how to leverage and strengthen your self-confidence, you can generate some excellent outcomes.
    For instance, self-confidence leads to:
Healthier relationships. Confidence doesn’t just influence how you feel about yourself, but it also helps you to understand and appreciate others better too.
Better performance. Rather than constantly worrying you’re not good enough, you can devote your energy to reaching your goals.
When you’re confident, you’re more likely to open yourself up to new opportunities. At the same time, you’re also less likely to take a massive hit if something doesn’t go according to plan.
Here are some quick ways to improve your self-confidence.
    Avoid Comparing Yourself to Others
The most important thing you can do to strengthen your self-confidence is to avoid comparing yourself to other people. When you’re constantly comparing how you look, your job, your home, and other aspects of your life to what other people have, it’s much harder to be confident in yourself.

The reality is envy does have a direct impact on how you feel about yourself.

Researchers have discovered that people who compare themselves to others are more likely to feel envy, and envy impacts how these people feel about themselves. If you’re feeling envious of someone else’s life, remember that the image you see of that person might not be as real as it seems.

    Look After Your Physical Health

It’s difficult to feel good about yourself when you don’t feel good. Practicing good self-care and looking after your body means that you’ll be in a healthier position to look after yourself – mind, body, and spirit.

Start by looking at your current self-care routine. Where does it most need improvement?

For instance, if you’re currently eating a lot of fast food to deal with long hours at work, now might be the time to start thinking about how you can add more fruits and vegetables into your routine.

If you spend a lot of time sitting in front of a computer at work, then you’re going to need to start getting some exercise into your routine, so you can feel your best.

It’s not just diet and exercise that makes a difference either. Think about how well you sleep. If you’re not getting the right amount of sleep, you’ll struggle to feel strong enough to handle the everyday challenges you have to face.

    Be Kinder to Yourself

We could all do with a little more self-compassion these days.

It’s easy to be kind to others when you see someone struggling, but if you’re not being kind to yourself, your confidence will suffer.

Ultimately, no matter how much of a perfectionist you consider yourself to be, it’s never a good idea to beat yourself up when you don’t achieve the goals you aimed for, or you feel like you’ve failed at something.

The reality is that we all make mistakes and being kinder to yourself when you do will make you feel a lot better than wallowing in the issue.

Look at mistakes as an opportunity to learn and grow and forgive yourself for not always getting things right the first time around. Trust that you will do better the next time you try to accomplish your goals.

If you’re having a hard time with self-compassion, imagine how you would talk to someone else who had experienced the same problem as you. How harsh would you be?

Why You Should Stick to the Basics and Forget the Complex
You probably already know way more than you need to know to make some big improvements in your life. Mastering the basics is all you probably need to greatly enhance your health, fitness, relationships, finances, and career.
Few people really need to move beyond the basics. Your life would change for the better if you spent more time mastering the basics and less time worrying about the complex.
    Keep these facts in mind:
The basics provide at least 80-90% of the results of nearly anything you want to accomplish. Mastering the basics is the most important first step toward mastering anything. In fact, unless you want to take something to the highest level, the basics are likely all you need.Let’s take your health, for example. What are the things that matter the most?
If you eat your fruits and vegetables, consume some protein, and avoid the foods you know are unhealthy, you’re in a good place.
Thirty minutes of basic exercise five times a week is sufficient to maximize your health.
Get enough of it. How much is enough? If you’re not tired when you wake up, you’re getting enough.
There’s really not much else that matters. Eat well, get some exercise, and get enough sleep. If you do these three things well, you’ll look and feel great.
It’s easy to learn the basics. This is good and bad. Since the basics are easy to learn, we assume they’re not relevant. But if you realize how relevant the basics are, you can make a lot of progress in a short period of time.
The basics might be boring. The details and the complex are always more interesting than the basics. Eating your veggies and getting 8 hours of sleep isn’t as interesting as figuring out the perfect blend of amino acids or finding the optimal training shoes. The basics might not be interesting, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t important.
The details and the complex contribute little. The small details only contribute incremental improvements. It’s not beneficial to spend valuable time on complex strategies until you have the basics mastered.
You’re addicted to the complex. Our brains love complex things. We’re addicted to trying to figure things out. This makes mastering the basics much more difficult. Recognizing the value of the basics makes it easier to avoid the trap of becoming obsessed with the details.
The complex can take a lot of time to master. Another downside to focusing on complex ideas and strategies is the vast amount of time it can take to make any real progress. Spending a lot of time on something that contributes very little is a poor strategy. That’s not to say that the more complex ideas and techniques are never worth your time. Get good at the basics and then see if there is a need to go further.
The fundamentals matter, whether you’re talking about boxing or dating. Completing five advanced courses on flirting won’t help your dating life as much as looking your best, having a life you’re excited about, and being pleasant and sociable with everyone you meet.
Consider these impactful words of B

How to Be a Better Communicator
Communication is the key when it comes to anything that involves collaboration. Since humans are a social species, communication is involved in nearly everything you do.
Some people are born with the natural ability to communicate well, while others may struggle with it. No matter what category you fall into, it's likely that you can benefit from paying attention to improving your communication skills.
    Why Better Communication Helps You
Did you know that most businesses consider your communication skills to be the most important characteristic about you? This means that you could have top-notch knowledge and job skills but still fail to land a job if you're lacking in the communication department.
Communication is certainly not only important when it comes to your work life, but it's also vital in having a successful home life as well. Couples and family members that are good communicators lead happier lives overall.
Proper communication will prevent misunderstandings and save you time so you won't have to go back and explain yourself again and again. You know you've gained good communication skills when you can communicate your thoughts effectively with as few words as necessary!
How To Improve Communication With Others
Communication is a two way street. This means that you could have excellent skills, but if the recipient is lacking, then you may not be understood. This is why it's important not only to develop our speaking skills, but our listening skills, too.
Since you can't affect the skill level of others, the only thing you can do is strengthen your own communication skills. Besides, when you're an excellent communicator, more people will understand you, everything around you will run more efficiently, and you'll more often get what you want!
Try these strategies to improve your communication skills:
    1. Avoid arguing. If you run into a snag in a conversation and it starts to morph into an argument, step back and realize what's going on. It's easy to get swept up into the blame game, but ultimately it's not important who's at fault. What's important is the mutual understanding of the issue at hand and a desire for a solution that benefits everyone.
    2. Don't be afraid to compromise. You may be tempted to try and "win" but that's not the best way to reach a mutual agreement. You may be happier with getting your way, but it may come at the expense of the other person, which can cause further issues. Find a good compromise that you both can willingly accept.
    3. Work on listening. Your listening skills are even more important than your speaking skills. After all, how will you know what you should say - and when - if you haven't effectively listened? Listen more than you speak and you'll gain a profound wisdom of others, too!
    4. Keep your focus. Communication will get overly complicated if you worry about too many issues at once. Avoid bringing up the past or other issues and, instead, focus on the one topic at hand.
    5. Stay calm
