5 Habits to Break Today to Make Tomorrow Better

Habits are interesting things: they start as one-time events, and before you know what's happening, you have already formed them. Without these habits, many things in our lives would be excessively time-consuming.

Our body starts habits to prevent us from thinking about every little step every single time. So habits can be good or bad, and once you form one, it is hard to stop.

A habit can lessen your problems, or it can cause more. The habits that you form today can lead to a good or a bad tomorrow. It all depends on which habits you choose to develop.

For example, you can choose to procrastinate, which leads to more stress in the long run. Or you can choose to do things efficiently, which will decrease your stress and increase productivity. You have control over your habits.

So, what current habits should you break right away if you truly want to make tomorrow better? Here are a few examples:

    1. Stress eating. Stress eating involves eating unhealthy snacks or meals when you're stressed out. If you eat like this regularly, you're probably not eating as nutritiously as you should.

    • And most of the time, it's not as if you're intentionally eating this way. You do this because you feel stressed out, so you eat. You don't have to. Breaking the habit of stress eating may be challenging, but it's essential to do so.

    1. The habit of sitting for too long at a time. It can seem challenging to find the time to do anything these days. But it's crucial to make time to exercise. Exercise can help you feel your best throughout the day, and it's a great way to cope with stress.

    • You might think it's okay to sit down for hours on end, especially when you have a lot on your to-do list. But it's important to get up and move around now and then. Moving around helps boost your metabolism, which can help prevent weight gain and reduce stress.

    1. Hitting snooze on your alarm clock. No one likes waking up in the morning. But anyone who wakes up is happy to do it finally. The difference between the high achievers and the rest of us is that the latter hit the snooze button on their alarm clock.

    • Hitting snooze also makes it easy to fall back asleep and push back time on essential activities. This habit can affect your mood and makes it difficult to perform at your peak during the day.

    • The thing with sleep is, the more sleep-deprived you are, the less productive you'll be. That is because sleep revitalizes your body and your mind, which helps keep you alert and focused.

    • That does not mean it's a good idea to hit the snooze button multiple times each morning in an attempt to get more sleep. Do this instead: Go to sleep earlier than usual if you feel you don't have a good rest each night.

    1. Spending hours on social media. According to a study, daily social media users spend an average of 2.5 hours on sites like Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat. The problem here is that social media is often used not to relax but to procrastinate.

    • 76% of adults between the ages of 18 and 34 use social media to waste time at work, according to a survey. All that time spent on social media is time lost at work or school.

    • Instead of wasting time on social media, use it more productively. Limit your social media activity to no more than 30 minutes a day.

    1. Working overtime. According to statistics, the average American adult works 40 hours a week. But the reality is, most of us work for longer than that. When we work overtime, we forfeit family time, sleep and keep our physical and mental health in decline.

    • Working overtime also costs us more money because, according to the research, it costs $1,000 a year more to work full time than to work part-time.

    • By working less, you can build a more substantial divide between work and the rest of life.

If you want to make tomorrow better, it’s important to start with breaking your bad habits. These habits can drain your energy and prevent you from reaching your true potential.

If you think you should quit a habit, try quitting for a little while first. This way, if the outcome isn't what you hoped for, then it's easy to go back to your old ways. But if things go well once you break the habit, then there will be no turning back!

5 Tips to Help You Find Your Inner Self

Do you ever feel lost and don’t know who you are anymore? If so, you’re not alone. Many people find themselves in this position in their lives. The good news is that there are ways to find your inner self again.

Here are five effective tips to help you find your inner self again:

    1. Identify your passions and focus on them. When you know what you’re passionate about, it’s easier to find direction and purpose in your life. If you’re not sure what your passions are, take some time to explore different activities and interests.

    • To find your passion, ask yourself what you enjoy doing, what makes you feel fulfilled, and what topics get your attention.

    • Once you identify your passions, attempt to focus on them each day. It could mean working on a hobby, pursuing a creative passion, or taking steps to achieve a goal.

    • Set small, achievable goals to understand your passions and boost your self-confidence.

    1. Each day do an activity that you enjoy. It would be best if you took the time to relax and recharge. If you’re constantly on the go, you’ll eventually burn out. Schedule some “me time” into each day.

    • Use this time to do something you enjoy, such as reading, listening to music, taking a bath, or spending time in nature. Taking care of yourself is crucial if you want to find your inner self again.

    • Book a spa day, listen to your favorite songs or go roller skating. Identify things that make you feel good and make time for them.

    1. Connect with nature. When you’re in nature, it’s easy to feel more connected to your inner thoughts and emotions.

    • Take a walk in the park, go for a hike, or sit outside and enjoy the fresh air. You’ll likely find that spending time outdoors helps you relax and clear your mind.

    • Spend time outside every day, even if it’s just for a few minutes. If you can, go for a walk in your backyard or take a hike in the woods. These activities will help you feel more connected to nature and yourself.

    • Spending time in nature will help you feel more connected to your inner thoughts and emotions. It will also benefit your physical, mental, and emotional health.

    1. Spend time with friends and family. Another way to find your inner self is to spend time with people who make you happy. You feel more relaxed and at ease when you’re with loved ones.

    • Take the time to reconnect with old friends or plan fun activities with your family. Attempt to surround yourself with positive people who make you feel good about yourself.

    • Hanging out with friends can be fun to relax and feel more like yourself again.

    • Choose friends that are supportive, positive, and make you laugh. Set dinner dates, go to the movies, or spend time at home.

    • Pets can also be supportive companions. If you don’t have any close friends or family nearby, consider getting a pet to help you feel more connected. Cats, dogs, birds, and fish can all make great pets. Consider what type of pet would best fit your lifestyle and home.

    1. Cultivate a positive mindset. A final way to find your inner self is to let go of negative thoughts and cultivate a more positive attitude.

    • Finding your inner self will be difficult if you always focus on negative thoughts. Attempt to let go of these thoughts and focus on the positive aspects of your life.

    • Think about things that make you happy, such as your favorite memories or people in your life.

    • You can also try positive affirmations to help shift your mindset. Repeating things like “I am worthy of love and happiness” or “I am strong” can help you believe these things about yourself.

    • Focus on the present moment. What is good about this moment? How can you make it meaningful to you?

By following these tips, you’ll be on your way to finding your inner self again. Remember to be patient and to enjoy the journey. Don’t give up on yourself. Believe in your ability to find happiness and inner peace.

Start each day with positive affirmations, take a long walk, and attempt to work on your passions as much as you can to help you successfully find your inner self.

How and Why Others Try to Hold You Back From Success

When you’re trying to change your life, there will be people that feel the need to get in your way. A few of them might actually believe they’re trying to help you, but they’re not. They want you to stay just the way you are. That way, they can feel comfortable about not improving themselves, too.

It’s frustrating to find out that few people are on your side, but it’s something that must be managed if you want to succeed.

See how others may try to derail your success:

    1. They point out your past failures. We’ve all failed numerous times in the past. Some people in your life will undoubtedly bring up those failures in an attempt to sabotage your efforts.

    • Suppose you decide you want to climb all the 14,000-foot+ peaks in the US. You might be reminded by a “friend” that you couldn’t even climb the 2,000-foot peak at summer camp. They might even suggest that you come up with a more reasonable goal.

  • They will try to make you feel guilty. Guilt is another weapon. Sticking with our mountain climbing theme, you might be told that all that travel is expensive. You might also be told that you should be saving all the money for your child’s college education. Or maybe you should spend all that time with your family instead.

  • They try to distract you. “Hey, forget the mountains. Let’s all go on a big vacation together instead.”

  • These are just a few of the less devious ways those around you might try to sabotage your efforts. But why would they do it in the first place? It doesn’t seem kind and supportive, and it’s not. Though they might try to present it that way.

There are several reasons why people close to you try to sabotage your efforts:

    1. They want to stay comfortable with their mediocrity. If you do something amazing, they have to deal with the fact that they have not. No one wants to feel like they’re losing the game of life. Rather than deal with their own fear, insecurity, and laziness, it’s just easier and less work to hold you back.

  • While there are some people that are genuinely happy to see you achieve something great, win the lottery, or lose 50 pounds, there are even more that are jealous. They’ll try to stop you from being successful. And if that doesn’t work, they’ll attempt to diminish the value of your success.

    • For example, “Oh, if I had all of your free time, I could easily lose 50 pounds, too.”

  • People don’t like change. Everyone is getting something from you. If they got nothing out of their relationship with you, they wouldn’t associate with you at all. If you change, it threatens the status quo. If you become something different, where does that leave them?

    • It’s psychologically easier for them if you just stay the same.

The solution is to commit to being successful in spite of the objections of others. You might want to consider removing the worst offenders from your life. Life is hard enough without having your own friends and family trying to make it even harder.

Commit to your goals for the right reason. Impressing others is a shallow reason for doing something. Do it for yourself.

Consider keeping your big goals to yourself. You receive less resistance from others. Choose what’s best for your life and do it! You don’t need the approval of others.

A 7-Step Process to Overcome Fear and Self-Doubt

Fear and self-doubt are two things that every normal person faces. These are also two of the biggest obstacles to success and happiness.

Some people feel more fear and self-doubt than others. And, some are better at overcoming these emotions than others.

Regardless of where you fall on the fear/self-doubt spectrum, there are many things you can do to rise above these emotions.

Conquer your fear and self-doubt with this process:

    1. Identify what you’re actually afraid of. What do you really fear? Most of us don’t have to worry about being eaten by tigers. Our lives are rarely in danger. The most common fears in a modern society are failure and making a fool out of one’s self. Of course, there are others.

    • If you want to start a business, but can’t seem to get started, what is your real concern?

  • Maybe you want to ask out a coworker on a date. What is the real fear? They certainly aren’t going to hit you over the head with a rock.

  • Be aware of your actual fear, and then you’ll have a chance of addressing it.

  • Find situations related to your fear that are only mildly uncomfortable. Perhaps you have a fear of public speaking. What could you do that’s similar, but less terrifying? You could:

    • Give a speech to a group of friends
  • Start conversations with strangers
  • Visualize yourself giving a speech
  • Do more group activities and speak up more
  • If you’re afraid of heights, you could start by looking down over a 2nd floor balcony and slowly work your way up to greater heights.

  • Take action. Thinking creates and magnifies fear. Taking action lessens fear. One of the best ways to get over fear is to immediately take action before you have a chance to talk yourself out of it.

    • Most people would be more successful, happier, and less afraid if they thought less and did more.

  • Visualize yourself being unafraid. Imagine you have a twin that’s similar to you, but different in other ways. If you could build the perfect twin, what would they be like? What skills, beliefs, and attitudes would they have? How would they handle the situation that creates fear in you?

    • Allow yourself to become that twin.

  • Give yourself small successes. Set yourself up to win. Make the game so easy that you can’t fail. As you gain confidence, up the stakes a little. Get used to being successful in the situations that cause you to feel fear.

    • If the thought of making 100 cold calls a day makes you break out in a cold sweat, give yourself the goal of making just one cold call. The next day, you can do three.

  • Show yourself that you can do it. Show yourself that nothing bad is going to happen to you.

  • Be realistic. What is the worst consequence you are likely to endure if the thing you fear comes true? It’s probably not anything you can’t handle!

    • What happens if the publisher rejects your book? What if your speech doesn’t go well? What’s actually going to happen to you? Will you still be safe? Will your family still love you?

  • Get help. Whether you need some help from a friend or a professional, there’s no shame in getting help. You would get help if your car’s engine blew up. You’d get help if you had a broken leg. Get the help you need to deal with your fears.

  • How much do you allow fear and self-doubt to rule your life? Imagine what your life would be like if you could overcome all of your fears and self-doubt.

Most people avoid the actions that trigger these uncomfortable feelings. You can do better. You can act in the face of these emotions and live your life to the fullest.

Feeling Unappreciated? Here’s What You Can Do

There are three general places we're likely to feel unappreciated: work, home, and within a relationship. If you're feeling unappreciated, there's a good chance it's within one of these three areas of your life.

Children are notoriously unappreciative. Spouses and bosses are often blind to the contributions we make. Even friends and coworkers can fail to show the appreciation we believe we deserve.

Everyone suffers from feeling unappreciated at times. Consider these ideas if you're struggling to pinpoint your emotion.

    Signs that you’re feeling unappreciated:

    1. You feel resentment towards someone in your life. If you’re feeling resentful toward someone, you might be feeling unappreciated. This is especially true if they haven't recently done anything obvious to upset you.

    • If you’ve been feeling resentful lately, ask yourself why.

  • You feel like you’re doing all the work to maintain a relationship. Sometimes it feels like you're doing all the work in a relationship, and the other person isn’t putting in nearly as much effort. This is a common reason for feeling unappreciated.

    • Relationships are never exactly equal, but the inequality should shift back and forth. Healthy relationships are equal over time, but not all the time.

  • You’re not being thanked for your efforts or contribution. We don't have to receive a medal for every little thing we do, but it's nice to be recognized for our efforts. This can happen at work or at home.

  • You aren’t asked for your opinion. When we aren't asked for our opinion, we don't feel valued. When others respect your opinion, they respect you.

  • The other person isn’t making time for you. If someone never seems to have time for you, you're likely to feel unappreciated. This is especially true if they seem to be able to make time for other people and activities.

  • Does the list above resonate with you? If you’ve identified yourself as feeling unappreciated, it’s time to do something about it.

Follow these strategies and get the appreciation you deserve:

    1. Determine what is happening that makes you feel unappreciated. Pin down the times you feel unappreciated. What exactly is happening? Who is involved? What is being said or not being said?

  • Determine what would have to happen for you to feel appreciated. What needs to change? What has to be done or said for you to feel better?

  • Try being more appreciative. This might sound odd, but a good strategy for receiving more appreciation is to give more appreciation. This can be hard to do when you feel that you’re not already receiving the appreciation you deserve. Try it and see if this strategy works for you.

  • Be open about your needs. It's always better to communicate your needs than to just remain upset. Tell the other person how you're feeling and why. Be sure to offer a solution and be willing to listen to the response.

  • Consider changing your behavior. If your actions aren’t appreciated, perhaps what you’re doing doesn't matter to the other person. Your time might be better spent in other ways. There’s always the possibility that you could consider rearranging your life so you can feel more appreciated.
  •

In some situations, you’re just going to have to accept that you’re not going to receive the appreciation you deserve. This often occurs in work situations. Focus on feeling proud of your contributions and be thankful for your paycheck!

However, you can often receive the appreciation you desire if you speak up for yourself. Most people are kind and will correct their behavior once they’re made aware. Avoid suffering in silence and get the appreciation you deserve!

    6 Habits That Prevent Happiness

While there are a lot of habits that will help to bring happiness into your life, there are also plenty of habits that will chase happiness away.

Some of the things we do each day make it very unlikely that we’ll experience happiness. You’re probably doing at least of couple of these things and never considered the negative impact that they could be having on your life.

Avoid these habits that can rob you of happiness:

    1. Unnecessary spending. One of the greatest stressors in life is financial issues. Happiness is harder to find when you’re up to your eyeballs in debt. General financial pressure is one of the greatest causes of misery and divorce.

    • Clutter is another barrier to happiness. When you spend too much, you have too much stuff. It’s always in the way and serves as a constant reminder that you spent more than you should have.

  • Think about the reward you gain by spending and find a less destructive way to accomplish the same thing.

  • If you want to make happiness a real possibility in your life, keep your spending under control.

  • Postponing your life. We’re always waiting for something to happen before taking action. Whether it’s waiting for the first of the month to start a diet, or waiting for the kids to leave the home before starting an online business, we always have an excuse to wait.

    • There will never be a perfect time to take that big step. Manage your circumstances as well as possible and get started today. Time is the one thing none of us can ever get back.

  • Blaming others for your challenges. When you blame others, you lose control. It’s not easy to accept responsibility for all of the unpleasant things in your life, but what other choice do you have? No one else is going to fix it for you.

    • Even if you’ve been used and abused, you are still responsible for dealing with the aftermath. Accept the challenge and move forward.

  • Not staying grounded in the present. Most people have a bad habit of dwelling on past mistakes and tragedies and worrying about the future. The past is over, so leave it there. Good choices today eliminate most future challenges. Focus on making the most of today, and the future will take care of itself.

    • Pay attention to your thoughts for an entire day. Notice how much time you spend thinking about the past or the future. Think about how that impacts your effectiveness and your happiness.

  • Holding a grudge. If someone has wronged you, you might be making a good decision by not trusting that person again. However, holding on to the animosity is pointless. You just make yourself unhappy and less effective. Once it’s over, learn what you can from it and forge ahead.

  • Focusing on challenges instead of solutions. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed if you focus on the unpleasant things in your life. Rather than do that, spend your time, energy, and focus on finding a way to make things better. You’ll feel better and be much more successful.
  •

It’s easier to be happy if you stop doing the things that prevent happiness. We all pick up some bad habits along the way. The important thing is to recognize them and eliminate them.

Allow yourself to be happy by letting go of your anti-happiness habits. You’ll find that happiness isn’t as challenging to achieve as you thought.

11 Ways to Build Lasting Self-Esteem

Self-esteem is essentially the quality of being pleased with yourself. The opposite of having high self-esteem is loathing yourself, which is obviously a challenging way to live. Learning how to be happy with yourself can benefit you in every other aspect of your life. You’ll be a lot happier in general, too.

Learn to love yourself and raise your self-esteem with these tips:

    1. Demonstrate to yourself that you’re a good person by giving some of your spare time to a worthy cause. You’ll feel better about yourself than if you’d spent the same time watching a TV series marathon instead.

  • Do something each day that you’re good at. We feel competent and confident while doing something that we know we’re good at. Make a list of the things you know in your heart that you do well. Do at least one of them each day and notice how you feel.

  • Remind yourself of your successes daily. Spend a few minutes each day reviewing your successes. Include recent as well as successes from the past. You’ve done a lot of great things. Avoid forgetting about them.

  • Avoid comparing yourself to others. There’s always someone that does something better than you. Just remember that there are things you can do better than them, too.

  • Increase your knowledge or expertise. Constant improvement is a sure path to greater self-esteem. Keep improving yourself and your capabilities, and you’ll be more impressed with yourself. What do you want to become better at doing? What would you like to know more about?

  • Release yourself from your mistakes. Allow your mistakes from the past to fade away. You can do this by forgiving yourself and keeping your mind focused on what is happening in the present time.

    • You don’t know anyone that has never failed or made a mistake. This includes your closest friends and family members. You don’t hold their mistakes against them, so how can you hold them against yourself?

  • Stick to your values. When you fail to live up to your values, you won’t feel very good about yourself. Understand your values and live them each day.

  • Face a fear. Having too many fears can lessen the level of self-esteem we experience. Overcome a fear and you’ll be amazed with yourself. Start with a small fear and work your way up.

  • Avoid doing things just to please others. Going too far to please or impress others demonstrates to you that your own preferences, values, and happiness come in second place. Be considerate of others but strive to make yourself happy.

  • Be able to say “no”. The inability to say “no” to others shows that you give too much preference to others and too little to yourself. Show yourself that you matter by being able to refuse the requests of others when appropriate. You’ll receive more respect from others, too.

  • Define what you believe a good person should be. You can’t be happy with yourself if you don’t have a target to strive for. Understand what it will take to feel a high level of self-esteem. Each day, you can choose to be the type of person you described.
  •

Work on your self-esteem each day. It doesn’t sit at a constant level for most people. Good days, weeks, and months tends to raise it. Experiencing bad periods of time tends to reduce it.

A great start is to decide on your values and then use them as a guide as you make decisions throughout the day. This is the foundation of high, and lasting, self-esteem.

    Why Happiness is So Important

Happiness has more importance than just feeling good. Happiness is also important to your health, longevity, success, and relationships.

The importance of happiness is often discounted in a culture obsessed with material success, but it’s hard to purchase something that will make you happy in the long-term.

Your happiness isn’t just important to you. It’s also important to your friends, family, and your employer.

    Consider these ideas:

Happy people are healthier. Happier people get sick less frequently and less severely on the average. Happy people visit the hospital less frequently. A bad mood is bad for your immune system, too.Happy people are less likely to suffer from anxiety, depression, and schizophrenia. Your physical and mental health are at greater risk when you’re not happy.
Healthcare is very expensive. Happiness can be a great way to save a lot of money.
Happy people live longer. Several studies suggest that the happiest people live up to 10 years longer than those that are the least happy. Also, since happy people are healthier, they also tend to live longer, too. Happiness can do more to boost your lifespan than just about anything else. It’s free, too.
Happy people are more resistant to stress. Unhappy people are more easily overwhelmed when stressed. Happy people are better able to handle stress, and the effect that stress has on them is decreased. Being happy makes you more capable.
Happy people are more successful. It's worth asking if successful people are successful because they’re happy. Or are they happy because they’re successful? It’s likely a little of both. Happy people are more productive, have better relationships, and handle stress better.
Happy people enjoy stronger relationships. Would you rather be around someone that was happy most of the time or someone that was not? Being happy can boost all of your relationships, including those with your partner, family, friends, and coworkers.Think about the happiest people you know. They tend to have great friendships and intimate relationships. They are close to their families, too.
Unhappy people are often alone and have challenging relationships when they do have people in their lives.
Happy people get more done. Happy people are more productive and are better employees. Think about how much better you take care of your home when you’re happy versus those times you’re unhappy. If you have an open position at work, consider happiness as a factor when hiring.
Happy people have more friends. Of course, they have more friends. Happy people attract others. We enjoy being around people that are in a positive emotional state. We avoid those that aren’t. If you want to have more plans on the weekend, be happier!
Happy people are more creative. A happy mind is more open to new ideas and concepts. A happy person is more likely to have a useful creative idea than someone that is unhappy. If you’re struggling to find a solution to a problem, put yourself in a happy state first. You’ll be much more likely to find the answer you need.
We often postpone happiness for a later date. We decide that we’ll be happy after we finish school, buy a house, save a certain amount of money, or find the per

8 Qualities That Support an Optimal Mindset for Personal Growth

Maximizing your personal growth is a worthy pursuit. In fact, many people make personal development their primary purpose in life. But even if you just want to smooth up your rough edges, having an effective mindset for personal growth will make the process more enjoyable and your efforts more fruitful.

Your mindset can make all the difference!

Consider developing these qualities to optimize your growth:

An open mind. Personal growth requires considering new perspectives, ideas, habits, and beliefs. If you’re dead set on approaching the world in a particular way, you’re greatly limiting your growth. Only when you are open to all the various possibilities can your growth be maximized.Consider that if you already had an optimal perspective and approach to everything, you’d already have everything you want. You may be mistaken about multiple things. Are you willing to figure out what those things are?
Are you open to the idea that you might change your objectives based on new things that you discover about the world and yourself?
An interest in learning. Are you willing to learn about goal setting? Overcoming fear? Discipline? Communication skills? Reading about new ideas? There’s a lot that you don’t know that you need to know if you’re going to become everything that you’re capable of being.
The willingness to fail. Trying new things requires failure. It’s rare and lucky to succeed at something the first time. Whether you’re learning to be a better public speaker, taking a class, or learning how to play the violin, there will be failure.Failure provides the opportunity to learn and then to apply that knowledge during future attempts.
The desire to experiment. Should you eat a vegan, vegetarian, or paleo diet? Try them all and see what works for you. You can’t be certain what you want to have, do, or be until you’ve experimented and found the best answer for yourself.
The ability to set your ego aside. Your ego is a major obstacle when it comes to maximizing your personal growth. Your ego makes you more likely to be certain you’re right when you’re wrong. It leads you to blame others when the fault is your own. It also makes you afraid to fail.
Value improvement over perfection. Daily improvement is incredibly powerful. It’s not possible to be great at something instantly. When you can get excited about improving by 1% at something, you have a great mindset for personal growth.
Personal growth is an ongoing process. It may take decades to become the best possible version of yourself. Even figuring out the ideal sleeping schedule can take several weeks of trial and error. It takes time to get over your social anxiety or lose weight. Patience is an important factor!
Changing and growing isn’t for the weak. It’s important to be determined and committed to changing yourself and your life.Determination is a valuable asset to have in many facets of life. Even people with minimal talent have become incredibly successful through great determination.

Personal growth is challenging, but it can be a lot easier with a mindset that supports your desire to grow. Too many people try to grind their way to progress, but real growth requires more finesse much of the time. Grinding a

Change Your Life by Implementing These New Habits

“The secret of your success is found in your daily routine.” - John C. Maxwell

What is the first thing you do after you wake up in the morning? Maybe you check your phone, or you get out of bed to brush your teeth. Whatever it is, you might not think twice about it.

Habits are learned behaviors that become a part of your routine over time. They can be subconscious. And habits are not always good.

Yet some of the most successful people attribute their success to their routine. Those people took time to integrate good habits into their life.

To change your life, you can change your habits. Habits do not have to be large changes in order to have an impact. You can also integrate small, good habits into your routine.

These habits might seem small or insignificant, but they can carry into your life in unexpected ways.

Implement these habits into your routine to change your life:

Make your bed. Starting your day by making your bed is one of the simplest habits to integrate into your daily routine. You reward yourself by starting the day off with an easy win. That simple accomplishment can subconsciously act as a domino effect as you generate other wins throughout your day.
Set an intention. At the beginning of your day, set an intention. You can also set intentions for the week, month or year. Setting intentions regularly guides you with a reminder of how you want to live each day.
Practice gratitude. Studies have shown that when we practice gratitude, our brains release dopamine. Gratitude helps shift your mind to positive thoughts, which can help you feel more positive.
At the end of the day, write down three things you are grateful for to build your gratitude habit.
When you exercise, your body releases chemicals that relieve stress and spark euphoria. In addition to being a natural antidepressant, exercise also builds your confidence. To build your confidence and happiness, make it a habit to exercise each day.
Express gratitude to others. When you express gratitude towards others, you strengthen the connection you have with them.
Write a thank you letter to a mentor who has guided you in the past or to someone who made an impact on your life.
After you spend time with someone, send them a message thanking them for their time and include one specific thing you loved about that time.
Just like exercise builds your physical muscles, reading builds your brain’s muscles. Reading consistently builds your ability to focus, concentrate, and remember things.
Switch to positive language. Practice using positive language, from your self-talk to the things you say to others.
Say, “Thank you for your patience,” instead of, “Sorry for the wait.”
Pay attention to the negative things you say to yourself. Would you speak that way to a friend? Speak to yourself more positively too!
Take the stairs. In a digital age where most of us are tied to our computers, choose the option that gets you moving! Take the stairs instead of the elevator. When you need to run an errand, walk or bicycle to the shop.

Follow these tips to successfully implement new habits:

Make each habit timely. For example, “make my bed daily” or “express gratitude to someone else once per week.”
Avoid long breaks when building a new hab
