Today we're talking with Jim's Lebowski. Check out his Instagram page @drsmokehouse And his tagline is, people aren't the only thing I cure. And Jim was recently in the south of France in Gascony. With Kate Hill who's been on the pod three times. And we're connecting with Jim today. Well, because I'm jealous, and because I want to learn what he learned and just sort of hear about the experience that he had in France.

Wade Troung was that kid you see in an ethnic restaurant doing homework in the corner. He grew up in the restaurant business and has done everything from prep to front-line cook to top drawer executive chef. He has run the back of the house and the front of the house. He has done every culinary job, including managing a wine shop. Currently, he hangs his hunting gear and kitchen tools in Fredericksburg, Virginia just a little bit south of D.C. Truong is focusing on the brand and company that he and his partner have: Elevated Wild. He is zeroed in on doing the stuff he loves, cooking wild food and exploring the idea of what food is.

Today we're talking with Chef Jade Berg from Vancouver Island. He is a personal chef, a cooking instructor and a live-fire cooking expert. Jade lives in a lovely part of the world, pretty much paradise on the west coast of Canada. Berg is based out of Campbell River BC, on Vancouver Island, about an hour and a half north of Nanaimo.

Bill Ash from Brisbane Australia joins me for a discussion about his new book Redesigning Conversations: A Guide to Communicating Effectively In The Family, Workplace, And Society. Bill Doesn't hunt. (Yet) But he has some great advice to elevate conversations, and who do we talk more with than the crew we hunt with? There is plenty of time for important (and not-so-important) conversations while hunting with your closest crew. Here's how to elevate those conversations.

He lives in a comfortable spot just outside of Little Rock, Arkansas, which is in Central Arkansas, small town of about about 25,000 people. He grew up in a in a small town down in Southeast Arkansas, where the population now is about 6000. He knew everybody in my graduating class there (150 years ago--he says--whenever that was), but through his career, he's moved around different parts of Arkansas, and says he's kind of settled in the in the twilight of it now having been in law enforcement now for 31 years. He says looking forward to retirement and just doing more stuff outdoors and spending time with family and those will hound dogs.

He's living a proper Southern outdoorsman's dream complete with the coon hunting Treeing Walker and best four-legged friend––Waylon.

Kate Hill joins us from Gascony to talk good food, Bordeaux wines and Armagnac. Kate is an American and has lived in France for 30 years. Recently Kate pivoted her guest house to a writers and artists residency. We chat about that too.

Lisa Roper joins Elevate Your Game to share her outdoor experience. Lisa lives in Sherwood Park, Alberta, just outside of Edmonton, where she can be outdoors and living her best life. Lisa spends the majority of her time up in northern Alberta, Lac La Biche and Lakeland area. Too, she regularly travels to do outdoor stuff like hunting and fishing all throughout Alberta, Saskatchewan and, and a little bit in Manitoba.
