For years I’ve encouraged sales professionals to be Patient with the Scoreboard but Impatient with the Process. Legendary coach Bill Walsh wrote a book, called ‘The Score takes care of itself’ to encourage proper focus in leadership and creating winners. In sports, although everyone may want to see every player have an excellent game, the opposing team always wants to Win. Ironically, in business and sales, when you do things with excellence and are very attentive to your prospects and clients, they want you to WIN EVERY TIME.
