Life is full of endless possibilities and opportunities but stepping out of our comfort zones can be difficult & scary. Every day we are compelled to make a series of decisions. The moment we open our eyes in the morning, we have to decide what we’ll have for breakfast, what we’re going to wear and a lot of other stuff until we go to bed. We always end up choosing the same things that we’re comfortable with. We’re so afraid to make a decision that is not what we’re used to. Why? Because our minds foresee negative results and that creates fear within us.

I recently had a really fun experience when I had my nails done. I realized how perplexed I was to try on something new thinking it was something not to my liking but ended up loving it. As simple as changing the kind of nails that I’m used to having had a great impact on me. This is what I’d like to talk about in this episode. With all that has been happening around us, part of our routine now includes just scrolling mindlessly on our newsfeeds, absorbing whatever these social media platforms are feeding our minds. Without us realizing, these mostly trigger negative emotions within us.

How can we escape this? How can we sustain ourselves with healthy & valuable contents? I found the answer when I started listening to podcasts. I know podcasts have been around since late 2004 and started to become popular by 2006. I realized how beneficial it is when I switched my screen time to listening to podcasts instead. It made me learn new things without straining my eyes, helped me gain information from business experts and most importantly it broadened my perspective about how I see things which I think has been helping me to become a better version of myself every single day.

How do you transition from a career you’ve been in for the longest time to a career you’re actually passionate about?

It’s harder than it sounds, right? Pursuing a career we’re passionate about can be scary & difficult. Why? Because we either want to stay in our comfort zones or we are afraid of letting go of a good paying job even if we’re not happy with it.

What is your definition of selfcare?

‘Self-care’ has become a buzzword, and some people see it as an indulgence or a reward for a job well done. But self-care – as defined by Tony Robbins is regularly doing things for yourself that makes you feel good.
