“Hi, I’m Elissa. I have cancer. And I’m living my best life.” This is what greets you when you click on Elissa Kalver’s personal website. When Elissa was diagnosed with Stage IV Metastatic Breast Cancer in 2021, she felt was given a choice: she could let the cancer beat her, or she could redefine what cancer looks like and truly LIVE.
Before her diagnosis, she had all the trappings of success: A beautiful daughter and an amazing husband. A home in one of the most famous cities in the world. She had been a collegiate athlete and a record breaking sales professional - she hit the Top 10% of ADP Sales Representatives throughout the country, achieved President’s Club and promotional benchmarks at a record pace and was a Top Performing Advisor at various financial firms.
But when cancer came knocking, she was faced with the opportunity to challenge the societal definition and turn it into something much more personal. Facing a terminal cancer diagnosis meant she had to redefine success on her own terms.
Listen to today’s episode for a rockstar reframe on what it means to truly live.
