What better way to start Season 2 of Finding Your Way Home than with the profound soul-insights of Cristy de la Cruz. I hope you enjoy listeners...
Cristy is a US-born coach, somatic practitioner, podcaster, writer and editor. She is the author of Unleash, Unlearn, and Enliven: Seven Micro-practices to Engage Your Somatic Wisdom. She hosts the Somatic Wisdom podcast, offering whole body practices to live well in changing times. And in her not-so-spare time, Cristy acts as a coach, supporting leaders and professionals with busy minds to deepen their intuition and more fully express their gifts in the world.
As we explore in the episode, Cristy is living proof of the ability to transform not just what you do, but who you are and how you relate to the world. In 2018, she stepped away from an intensive career in clinical research - a move that was both voluntary and deeply necessitated by the signals from her body. What followed was a period of deep "stilling" - facing unhealed aspects, softly re-connecting with her physicality and cultivating a gentler, more authentic way of being. Deeply fuelled by her love of writing and teaching, she received her 200-RYT in Soma Yoga in 2019; the gateway to her career in the holistic & coaching space.
It was a beautiful conversation, moving through Cristy's personal journey, the clarifying quality of breakdown and burnout, accessing the body as a tool for healing, and how to find the quiet with a neurodivergent brain. A must-listen for anyone curious about career transition, somatic healing and consciously navigating ADHD.
