  • EP5: Dr. Deb Kern on Being a Loving Master of Your Energy

In Feb 2015, I did a 5-day symposium consisting of 25 interviews with powerful and inspiring women sharing their stories and advice for transcending life's struggles, fears and doing it their own way. We got so much incredible feedback on the interviews, we decided to turn it into a podcast. At times during the interviews when you hear us refer to the series or interviews that have already been done, keep in mind these interviews have been repurposed and may not follow the original order – but stay tuned because we'll be airing two each month alternating with fresh new episodes called "Ask Liz" every Wednesday.

    About Dr. Deb Kern:

At 30 years old, Dr Deb Kern was one of those women who 'had it all together.' Perfect house, perfect neighborhood, perfect job, perfect health, perfect marriage, perfect pregnancy. And, in a 3 month period she lost it all. It took four years to emerge from the wreckage of that half-lived life and since then she's dedicated herself to improving the lives of other women through intuitive coaching, body movement and dance courses and workshops.

Dr. Deb is the former Executive Director of Lifestyle Enrichment at the prestigious Lake Austin Spa Resort. She's a sought-after speaker on mind/body/spirit health, and the author of "Everyday Wellness for Women" and co-author of "Create the Body Your Soul Desires: The Friendship Solution to Weight, Energy and Sexuality. Dr. Deb has facilitated healing retreats and provided one-on-one life coaching sessions for the past 20 years. She studied Nursing at Vanderbilt University and received a B.A. and an M.B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin, with her Ph.D. in Health Sciences from Texas Woman's University in Denton, TX. Lastly, she's also a Black Belt Nia Teacher, certified Integral Hatha Yoga Instructor, Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapist and Mindful Change Coach.

In this episode, Dr. Deb Kern shares:

    1. The difference between judgment and discernment 2. How to expand and keep boundaries 3. The best simple meditation practice for protecting your energy in any environment

  • EP3: Foxy Pickett on Shamanism, Shadow Work, and Living a Forbidden Life

In Feb 2015, I did a 5-day symposium consisting of 25 interviews with powerful and inspiring women sharing their stories and advice for transcending life's struggles, fears and doing it their own way. We got so much incredible feedback on the interviews, we decided to turn it into a podcast. Foxy is a trusted soul sister, personal mentor of mine and this was one of the most popular interviews in the original series when we surveyed viewers.

About Foxy: Mrs. Fox is a contemporary shaman, bringing animal medicine to those craving a more soul-aligned, wild life. Due to its playful nature and quick, tangible results, her work has been called "more effective than years of traditional therapies". Through totem readings, integration sessions, and interactive learning in her online shamanic university, people around the world have found and unleashed their true natures. Foxy's an ENFP Aries (Taurus rising, Aquarian Moon) with a 5 life path and is a 7/4 on the Enneagram. You can often find her eating bacon, hiking, or playing with her Tiger husband, 4-year old Monkey son and Giraffe star daughter (just born this January) in their permaculture garden.

    In this episode Foxy shares:

    1. What are shamanism and animal medicine? 2. Why are they valuable pathways home to ourselves? 3. How to recognize and relate to your shadow side

  • EP2: Rochelle Schieck on Living Qoya, Wise, Wild, and Free

In Feb 2015, I did a 5-day symposium consisting of 25 interviews with powerful and inspiring women sharing their stories and advice for transcending life's struggles, fears and doing it their own way. We got so much incredible feedback on the interviews, we decided to turn it into a podcast. Back in 2013 when I was studying sensual movement as part of developing Wild Soul Movement, my friend Kate Northrup introduced me to today's guest, Rochelle Schieck, founder and creator of Qoya.

About Rochelle: Rochelle Schieck loves to move- in her body and around the world. She started dancing as a young girl growing up in Minnesota until she was summoned by the call of adventure. Her love of movement and the desire to explore life's meaning compelled her to spend the last 10+ years traveling around the world as a student and teacher to places throughout North and South America, Europe, Africa, India, Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

Rochelle began instructing various yoga styles for all ages and abilities, several dance modalities and NIA. She has led over 4,000 movement classes and facilitated hundreds of private sessions. On a strong hit of intuition, she decided to move to New York City to enroll in a women's empowerment program subtitled The Pleasure Revolution; this further inspired her study of the divine feminine, sensuality, and other womanly arts. This coupled with her experience as a personal trainer, certified massage therapist, shamanic energy healer and her degree in Interdisciplinary Fine Arts have all influenced her creation of the movement system, Qoya.

In this episode Rochelle walks us through: 1.How to get information and feedback for your life using your emotions 2.Honoring your masculine and feminine energies and why both are useful 3.How to cultivate deep trust in yourself to worry less and experience more abundance in your life.
