It is 2023! A brand new year! Isn’t it exciting? When I think of a brand new year, the words or phrases that come to mind are: A Fresh Start, I feel energized, hopeful, excited, I have a renewed commitment.
For many of us, the beginning of a new year sparks the desire to set new goals.
Why do we set goals?
By Divine design, each one of us was created to learn, to grow, and to progress throughout our lives and the desire to do so is instilled in every one of us. We didn’t come to earth to just be, we came to earth to BECOME; to discover our divine potential, see what is possible, to create, and to thrive. And this feels so invigorating, and so good.
Setting and achieving goals hasn't always been something that I have been good at. I will share my journey about how setting too many goals for myself became a recipe for overwhlem, exhaustion, and even resentment. As a result, I would simply just quit.
In the last few years I have learned strategies that have made setting and achieving goals much more doable and even fun, and in today's episode I will share them with you.
These steps are:
- Discovery
- Planning
- Taking Action
- Taking control when your brain and emotions what to take charge
- Celebrating the milestones, no matter how small
- Evaluating and making adjustmets along your goal journey
Remember, the only way you are going to fail when it comes to achieving your goals is to quit.
