What should you do when the obstacle before you looks impossible—and God’s instructions do not seem to make sense?
In Joshua 6:1–27, Jericho was securely closed, heavily fortified, and impossible to conquer through ordinary human strength. Yet God had already declared, “I have given Jericho into your hand.” The victory was promised before the walls ever moved.
Instead of giving Joshua a conventional military strategy, God commanded Israel to march around the city in silence for six days. On the seventh day, they marched seven times, the priests sounded the trumpets, the people shouted, and the walls collapsed.
This devotional reveals why God often calls us to:
• obey before we understand
• remain faithful when nothing appears to be changing
• trust His presence instead of our own strategy
• wait for His appointed moment
• believe that no wall is stronger than His promise
You may be facing your own Jericho today—a financial burden, health battle, broken relationship, delayed dream, family struggle, career obstacle, or spiritual stronghold. The wall may appear immovable, but God is not limited by what you see.
Keep marching. Keep trusting. Keep obeying.
The same God who brought down Jericho’s walls is still able to make a way where there seems to be no way.
