Emuna Beams

The Cord of Three Strands symbolizes the bond of emuna, the marriage that's built on the deep and durable foundations of emuna. The triple-stranded cord represents the Creator, the groom, and the bride. Together, intertwined, they form a braid that symbolizes the fusion of one man, one woman, and the Almighty in the marriage. Both Moses and the Egyptian sorcerers had sticks that turned into snakes. But, there was a big difference. They threw their sticks on the floor. Moses simply spoke to his stick. What do we learn from this?

Sometimes, what appears to be a worst-case scenario is really the best. Without our realizing, the person who we think is our worst adversary is really our best advocate. We're in for a big surprise and even a bigger shock, something we never expected…

Don't get me wrong - I'm not a professional musician. For relaxation, I play flutes made out of natural materials that grow in the Land of Israel, such as bamboo, almond and olive wood.

The Land of Israel is holy. Divine melodies permeate everywhere you go.

Once, I was under a lot of stress. I needed first aid, so I took a flute and walked to a secluded beach near Ashdod's ancient citadel. I put the flute to my mouth and this is what came out. Seven minutes later, I forgot all about the stress. This melody will calm you to. I use it to sing Psalm 23. That's where the name "Calming Waters" come from. Enjoy it and feel free to download it, courtesy of "Lazer Beams".

There's nothing healthier for body and soul than a new beginning, making a fresh start. The spirit influences the body. So, when the spirit declares a fresh start, the body becomes rejuvenated! By removing the focus from our setbacks and disappointments, we avoid sadness and depression. And if we messed up by committing some transgression, we simply ask forgiveness from Hashem and promise to do our best to improve. Once we've made teshuva, the past is wiped away – the transgression no longer exists! Therefore, by declaring a new start, we destroy sadness and depression, especially the depression that follows a transgression.

Rebbe Elimelech of Lizensk longed for the coming of Moshiach (Messiah), a day when truth and justice will prevail the world over. He told a parable about a baker sifting flour, which he said would be indicative of Moshiach's imminent arrival. This amazing parable helps us understand current events today.
