What can be said about gut instincts...In Malcolm Gladwell’s fascinating bestseller Blink, he describes many situations where you do your best thinking when you don’t think at all. But he also shows plenty of scenarios where your instincts are way off. What does the research say? How do you know when to trust your gut — and when not to? You can trust your intuition… Sometimes....You make up your mind about someone in 100 milliseconds. Literally. And more often than not, you’re right. In just five minutes you can often evaluate people with approximately 70% accuracy.

I've been dating a long time! Well over a decade, coming up to 2, so I've had a lot of interesting experiences with men, some good, some bad, all interesting. It is rare that anything really surprises me or leaves me speechless. The other day I was on Tinder, having a stimulating conversation with a man, when he asked for my phone number to switch over to a call. I realized I hadn't asked him much about himself. So I asked about work and school and marriage and kids... and he answered everything...but when we got to the kids part...he was like umm...I don't really know how to tell you this.... but.....

I had an interesting date this week.... the guy had surgery, well cosmetic surgery, he had a beard transplant. It was pretty damn cool and interesting, but what I loved the most, was his honesty and transperency. Really got me thinking about guys and plastic surgery and how much the world is changing. This was a really tough episode for me to record, really, really tough. I know this is a dating podcast, and I know I'm open about a lot, especially about my dating life...but I tend to keep sex out of it. I can discuss sex as a topic and generically, and likes and dislikes, but I don't really get into my personal sex life, nor the details of it. This episode is me having sex with someone when I really shouldn't have. I was in a bad place mentally, a horrible place emotionally, and what I needed was support. And I sought out intimacy. It really messed me up. This is my truth.

Ah yes, February 14th, the infamous day where we celebrate love. Personally, I have never been a fan of Valentine's Day, I always thought it was too forced, too fake, too commercial, and too lovey dovey. Not that I have anything against flowers and chocolate, I mean I'm the biggest fan of flowers! So this year, like the rest of the world, being in a pandemic has really changed my opinion on things. The Doc and I look at how Covid has forced us to embrace our alone time, our thoughts, and perhaps even our views on love.
