לא יאכל עד שיבדוק הפרי מתוכו שמא יש בו תולעת,
שאותה תולעת אסורה משום שרץ השורץ על הארץ,
וכל שהאיסור מצוי חוששים לו וצריך בדיקה,
אף על פי שאינו מצוי ברוב אלא במיעוט,
כשם שבודקים את הריאה מפני הסירכות המצויות בה......
.............ולפיכך צריך לבדוק כל פרי ופרי בפני עצמו.
