One of the lockdown side-effects is the Irish 'media' taking pot shots at Irish boxers and their sport. The only sport - incase some of them forget - that delivers world class operators, world class atheletes and the only Irish sport that REGULARLY wins international honours in the pro AND amateur codes. Some of their rhetoric maybe justified by events of the past - but should our sport and everybody in it be made to suffer for the actions of  others? We have a little look at all that in this episode.

The boxing that we love today is built on the tradition of that bygone era where the best fought the best. Where champions pitted themselves against any and ALL comers with the endevour of being great. Despite being just 28 Michael Zerafa has been in with Peter Quillin, Kell Brook and Jeff Horne twice. He has shown the skills, talents and marketability to become one of the best of his era. Michael joins the podcast today to talk about growing up in Australia,his short amateur career, those huge fights and we also remember a fallen comrade and the effects it's had on him.

It's great to welcome Bray's European bronze medalist and friend of the show Regan 'The Rocket' Buckley. Since winning the medal in Minsk almost a year ago to the day it has been an eventful 12 months. He chats about the homecoming, the Elite senior championships in November and the events that followed that.

Caoinhin Agyarko grew up in West Belfast and began his affinity with boxing through
Holy Trinity boxing club at the age of 7. When he eventually turned professional in 2019 he had survived a sickening assault which very nearly cost him his life and he hadwon everything there was to win in amateur boxing - nationally and Internationally. His professional career has started in similar, devastating fashion as he is now 6-0.
Caoimhin chats to Al on this episode about growing up in Belfast. About his Irish/Ghanaian background, that sickening assault as he recalls it and his beautiful relationship with the famous Holy Trinity club and their legendary coach Mickey Hawkins.

Isolation is affecting all of us in different ways at different times so if you want a little inspiration, 
or a lot of motivation or simply an example of a fantastic human being who refuses POINT BLANK to quit when
the going gets tough. Then this is the episode for you! 
Not only has Stacey Copeland played professional football, not only has she represented England women. She also won
multiple multi nation events boxing for Team GB, turned pro and won the Commonwealth title ASWELL as battled back from
a series of injuries - one of which would have been enough to finish most.
Stacey also setup her own foundation Pave The Way and its a real pleaure to have her join this episode and tell us her story.

At the turn of the decade Victor Rabei was sitting pretty & thanking the boxing Gods for what had been a tremendous 12 months - but could have been even better.
He won the BUI Celtic Lightweight title. Defended it once & signed a fantastic promotional deal with US promoter Joe DeGuardia’s - Star Boxing.
In this episode Vic is back to talk about all of that. About life in isolation and indeed the business side

It was December 2018 when Dennis Hogan recorded a points win over Jamie Weetch and set himself up to fight on the
world stage. The first of those was a world title fight against Jamie Munguia for the WBC junior middleweight title.
The records show a points loss for Hogan but the boxing world widely acknowldeged that Dennis won that fight. In the aftermath and upon
reflection - Danny Dimas, Paul Keegan and the team at DDP Promotions weighed up all the offers, considered all avenues and Team Hogan
stepped up to face Jermall Charlo at the Barclay's Centre in New York last December (2019) for the WBC Middleweight title. A HUGE ask -
a calculated risk which may not have paid off in the ring. But Dennis joins us again to discuss all of that, the fights themselves and the
off shoot of that calculated risk.
Joining the podcast for the first time is newly turned pro Ryan O'Rourke. Ryan had quite a successful amateur career where he won nuermous box
cups, represented Ireland and travelled the world in the amateur vest. He turned pro in December 2019 and went 3-0 in less than 3 months. Ryan joins
us on this episode to talk about all of that and about his expectateions, the challemges or turning over and everything else.
