89% of team members say the lack of collaboration and communication is the main reason why there are so many failures in the workplace.
We often wonder why people leave. What I mean is that no matter the industry you’re in, if you have an employee or contractor, having an open door policy is important.
An open door policy is a communication style between those you manage and those you work with allowing team members to speak about the workplace and personal issues. It all boils down to communication. We discuss communication a lot because it’s important.
In this episode, listen for:
It’s important to establish an open door policy from the beginning. Once the team members have been brought on, it’s vital to proactively communicate. An open door policy encourages others to seek guidance or express concerns when needed.
As the business owner, be acceptable for both new and existing team members to seek clarification through asking questions. You need to avoid the assumption everyone knows everything. Embrace a culture where questions are encouraged.
What are your thoughts on an open door policy? Wherever you are, drop your comments and let us know!

“Some of our important choices have a timeline. If we delay a decision, the opportunity is gone forever. Sometimes our doubts keep us from making a choice that involves change. Thus an opportunity may be missed.”-James E. Faust
As entrepreneurs, we have to make many decisions, and in the last episode, we discussed the process. In this episode, we brought on Lara to discuss the decision-making process and what goes into it.
In this episode listen for:
How to navigate numerous influences, such as emotions and personal values, and how to incorporate them into your decision-making process.
Due to daily emotions and how they affect our business, female entrepreneurs may struggle to set and stick to goals.
Every business decision affects your personal life. We try to keep the two separate, but we realize we're here to improve our personal lives, which is why we started our business to have that flexibility.
When you’re deciding anything or working toward a goal, don't focus on the destination so much as how you can get there; this will help you make better decisions.
About Lara Johnson:
She is a mother of four children, a wife, and a certified life coach. She tried being a stay-at-home mom for a while before coming to the conclusion that it was not the right choice for her. It was time for her to embark on her own path, but how should she do so? How would she go about doing that? Due to the fact that she is a very busy mother and her husband has a very demanding schedule, she was aware that she needed to construct her business around her family. And it was at that point that she realized it was time to build her business in order to assist other women who were doing the same thing.
Lara helps women through the process of discovering their purpose and the steps necessary to make it a reality.

“The mind that opens a new idea never returns to its original size.” - Albert Einstein
That is the truth. As an entrepreneur, you started this journey because of curiosity. If you weren’t that one bit curious, you wouldn't be here. As you're curious you mind wonder and this will help you develop new ideas, products or services.
As an entrepreneur, having curiosity will allow you to be open minded and can adapt to challenges and changes.
In this episode, Dana and Sara discuss this skill set of curiosity. There are many other skills you will endure while you expand your mind such as problem solving and growth mindset.
To cultivate curiosity, you can talk with others who have different perspectives, have been in the same position you’re in or going through the same.
As you work with your clients and your team, have open discussions and create that curiosity amongst each other. You never know what you’ll learn.
This week's discussion question:
What is something you're curious about? What did you do to find out information?
