Laura Morelli is a hybrid author of fiction and non-fiction. She holds a Ph.D. in art history from Yale University and has taught college students in the United States and Europe. She is the creator of the Authentic Arts guidebook series that includes Made in Italy and Made in France. She has been a columnist for National Geographic Traveler and Italy Magazine, and has also developed lessons for TED-Ed.
As a historical novelist, Laura has published the award-winning novels The Gondola Maker and The Painter’s Apprentice, both set in 16th-century Venice. Currently she is at work on a series of novels based on famous painters of the Italian Renaissance. In fiction, her passion is bringing the stories of art history to life.
