Every person has a perspective and there is value in every perspective. However, every perspective is filtered through limited human experience and the meaning we have given that experience - accurate or inaccurate, “right” or “wrong”. Just before going to the cross, Jesus gave His disciples (and us) a new commandment: to love as He loves. This is how His followers should be known. However, we tend to get confused. What does His love really look like? How do we handle ourselves to love and honor people with vastly different perspectives? How do we learn from our “enemies”? Do we really have human “enemies”? How do we honor people who behave badly or heinously? How do we love people who act despicably and destructively? How do we honor our mockers? How do we not become what we hate? Join me as I explore the world of perspectives and enlarge our capacity to love, together!
