Coach Ellis led teams at South Alabama, Clemson, Auburn, and Coastal Carolina to some of their best seasons ever, and led the 1999 flying tigers to an SEC Championship and a #1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament. At the time of his retirement, he was the winningest active coach in Men's Division 1 Basketball. He ranks second all time in wins at Auburn with 186.
