For more than 39 years, more than 5,500 U.S military personnel have joined in a multinational exercise that includes such drills as drinking the blood of beheaded cobras, killing chickens with their bare hands, and eating live tarantulas. It's not "Fear Factor" it's "Cobra Gold," and it's all paid for with U.S tax dollars. PETA broke the story in March and has pressured the Dept of Defense to stop the practice, but to no avail. Emil Guillermo talks to PETA's Shalin Gala, VP of Laboratory Investigations about Cobra Gold and the effort to end the practice.
See the pictures at PETA.org, then take action to stop Cobra Gold.
