The word enmity means hatred. It comes from the same root from which we get the word enemy. Satan means enemy. For those who like to trumpet that God is merely Love, it is fun to point out that it was this simple so-called God of Love who placed hatred on the Earth. Since this is Biblically Correct and it is quoted in Genesis as coming straight from the mouth of God, this is an important topic to understand.
