Our guest, Dr. Rodrigo Antunes de Vasconcelos PT, Ph.D graduated in 1995 from the Universidade Metodista de Piracicaba (Unimep), where he also completed his specialization in Sports Physical Therapy in 2001. In 2002, he participated in a visiting residency program at the University of Pittsburgh focusing on advanced techniques in orthopedic and sports rehabilitation. Dr. Vasconcelos earned his Master’s and PhD degrees in Medical Sciences and completed his Postdoctoral degree in Rehabilitation and Functional Performance at the University of São Paulo (USP) He is board certified in Sports Physical Therapy by COFFITO/SONAFE, a distinction that recognizes his advanced expertise and contributions to the field. He is the clinical leader of the Instituto Wilson Mello, a renowned healthcare institution in Campinas, São Paulo, and the physiotherapy team at Cinetics Physio. Dr. Vasconcelos works full time as a clinician with sports, orthopaedic and complex chronic pain patients, applying a Value-Based Healthcare (VBHC) approach. His team is uniquely positioned as the only physiotherapy group in Brazil to have participated in three VBHC projects in collaboration with health insurance providers, showcasing their expertise in delivering measurable, high-quality outcomes while optimizing costs.
