(00:00) A brief overview of Hebrews 7-13.

(04:03) Main themes in the book of Hebrews.

(07:59) The superiority of the Melchizedek priesthood over the Aaronic Priesthood.

(15:49) Through his righteous example, Melchizedek brought peace to the corrupt city of Salem.

(25:45) Christ offered himself as a sacrifice for sin.

(39:01) The Tabernacle’s items anticipated the works of Christ, while the Ark and everything inside it are representations of Him.

(45:23) Elder Holland spoke about Jesus as the “High Priest of good things to come.”

(55:45) “For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of a testator.”

(1:00:04) Hebrews 10 introduces the idea that the veil of the temple is a symbol for the Savior. We approach the Father through the Son.

(1:08:07) A repeated reminder that choosing to follow Jesus means you cannot revert back to neutral ground. Don’t cast away your confidence.

(1:13:52) Paul teaches that faith is “evidence of things not seen.”

(1:25:17) Hebrews 11: “The Hall of Faith.”

(1:28:27) “Women receive their dead raised to life again” (Heb. 11.35). Julie Smith highlights the role of women as witnesses when the dead are raised in the scriptures.

(1:31:23) As a testament to His love, God chastens and tries us in all things, expecting us to face challenges with resilience.

(1:43:25) Paul counsels the Saints to avoid shedding Esau tears. We can change our course in life, but our choices can have lasting consequences.

(1:50:14) Exalted Saints belong to the Church of the Firstborn.

(1:56:34) Practical advice in Hebrews 13 involves showing love and hospitality to others, remembering our leaders, being content, and trusting in the Lord.
