Jim Mason, a co-author with philosopher Peter Singer on "Animal Factories," has come out with a new edition of his 1993 classic, "An Unnatural Order--Roots of Our Destruction of Nature." The book is a history of the evolution of mankind's treatment of animals and how the agrarian culture changed our relationship with animals. Instead of being among the animals, we were in control and had dominion over animals. Mason connects that thinking with racism, colonialism, and white supremacy in this conversation with Emil Guillermo.
