The Strength In Numbers Podcast

EP 29: Angelo Gingerelli | Building College-Ready Athletes and Sustainable Coaching Careers

Listen Later

After 20 years as a Strength and Conditioning Coach at Seton Hall University, Angelo Gingerelli recently transitioned into a new role as a professor at Kean University. He also serves as the New Jersey State Director for the NSCA and is the author of The Next 4 Years: Compete, Win, and Thrive in College Sports.

In this episode, Angelo shares insights from his book and career, discussing why many athletes arrive at college unprepared—and the habits and actions they need to develop to thrive once they get there. He also offers perspective for high school coaches on how to better equip their athletes for the next level, both physically and personally.

We also dive into his decision to leave collegiate strength and conditioning after two decades, how coaches can navigate major career decisions, and the importance of building multiple streams of income outside of your day job.

Check out Angelo’s new book here: The Next 4 Years: Compete, Win, and Thrive in College Sports.
