This week we are learning how to do one of the world's favourite things - insulting those from the United States - the Australian way. Discover how we use rhyming slang to form one of our most well known insults.

In this episode you will learn how "yank" rhymes with "septic tank", and then in classic Australian language, we shorten this again to "Seppo".

We learn why Australians use so much rhyming slang and how you can use it and understand it in your own conversations. We speak to one of our favourite Seppos, Evan, who is a keen student of Lunfardo and the parralels between how speakers of Spanish can subvert language in the same way that Australian speakers do.

We also learn that some slang in Australia actually comes from the United States, especially the Western United States and why. Learn the expression "kangaroo court", and the phrasal verbs "pan out", "block off" and "block out".
