In this short episode, we examine the background to Isaiah 48-49 which is quoted in 1 Nephi 20-21. These chapters are rooted in First Israelite Temple theology and the Feast of Tabernacles. Understanding this background helps readers to see what Isaiah is doing in these chapters (as well as all of Deutero-Isaiah!) and why Nephi includes them as part of his construction of sacred scripture.
