In this episode of CRYPTO 101, brought to you by Gods Unchained, we sat down with Dominik Schiener from IOTA to talk about one of the most ambitious infrastructure projects going on in the world, the IOTA Tangle. If the Ethereum blockchain is like a coal power plant, the Tangle is a nuclear reactor core.

Dominik gives us insights into the challenges of decentralizing something this unique and technically complex, as well as building out business development on the human side. We’re reminded that a project of such large scale can’t be compared to pretty much anything else in the crypto world, and will take a lot of time before it essentially acts as the underpinning to smart cities and smart roads of the future.

One potential concern is something this amazing would be stolen or copied before it could really launch, but Dominik eased these concerns, and assured us the thousands of blockchain patents now held by Bank of America and Microsoft will not impede or impact what IOTA is building.

Many people have heard about Direct Acyclic Graphs before in the blockchain industry, but the Tangle is a different variation of that, and we learn what those differences are in this episode.
