Sei operates as a fully independent blockchain with its own infrastructure, aiming to provide developers with opportunities to build complex on-chain applications that were previously too expensive or technically challenging. The upcoming Sei Giga upgrade promises to significantly increase transaction capacity to over 200,000 transactions per second, potentially enabling large-scale applications to run on blockchain infrastructure.
