This week on The Late Night Vision Show we have the rare occasion of discussing a current news article directly relating to the thermal and night vision industry. Last week (September 6, 2019) Forbes released an exclusive article announcing that the US Dept. of Justice has asked Google and Apple to turn over the personal information of all users of the ATN Obsidian App that is used in conjunction with many of ATN's thermal and digital night vision optics. The DOJ claims they have reason to believe there has been illegal exportation of ATN scopes to foreign countries and they claim the personal user information from this app will aid them in their investigation. The DOJ says that ATN is not under investigation.
